We love road trips and traveling across the western states. I'm originally from Northern California and now live in Utah and loving every minute of it! So many places to camp less than 30 mins from Salt lake City and we're so lucky to have 5 national parks right in our backyard.
Meet Big Bertha, our 2002 Roadtrek Versatile 190 Dodge Ram Class B Van that has everything you need for a memorable journey. Roadtrek brand is one of the highest quality and dependable Class B conversion vans on the market, they made them super easy to drive without sacrificing any of the features from the larger Class A and C motor homes. It's just the right size to go into any of the 5 National Parks that we have here in Utah and range from 180 to 290 miles from my home town of Herriman, Located in Southern Salt Lake County. (Anything larger than 28 feet is not permitted in National Parks)
Due to the Covid19 Pandemic, RVs are a great way to travel while staying safe doing so in your self contained bubble.

My husband Joseph and I had the BEST three-week adventure in Big Bertha! She runs like a top, no mechanical problems, owing certainly to Jack's excellent maintenance and upkeep of both the vehicle engine and the RoadTrek camper. Our favorite part of our trip was finding so many beautiful, quiet boondock sites, where we were fully equipped to camp without any hookups or services at all. I can't say enough about how comfortable we were - heater worked every morning to warm us up; generator, inverter, water pump, toilet, hot water for shower (and I mean hot as you like), propane fridge and stove - all in excellent working condition. There is even complimentary use of Netflix if you are camping in an area with good cell service or WiFi. The van is just short enough to allow parking in a regular parking spot; and maneuvered very well on paved as well as gravel surfaces. Jack is outstanding in communication, friendliness, availability for calls/texts, and flexibility. We changed our dates slightly before departure; Jack was not only flexible, but communicated with Outdoorsy to avoid extra fees for us! He explains everything on the van in sufficient detail; we had very few questions. And our pooch Hazel loved Bertha too.

Big Bertha was great to us. Jack was incredibly helpful and quick to answer any questions we had about how it all runs.

We had a great trip in Jack’s Big Bertha down to Bryce Canyon. Jack could not have been more helpful or accommodating! We had a family pet emergency that disrupted our vacation plans and Jack very graciously allowed us to slide our plans one day later which worked out beautifully for us. Jack had Big Bertha nice and clean and even had the tires rotated and balanced right before we picked it up so that we’d have a really smooth ride. Extra nice touches were road snacks, drinking water, microwave popcorn and oatmeal to get us started on our first RoadTrek adventure. He carefully explained how everything worked and was available to answer any questions we had during our trip. One of his selling points is that the RoadTrek 190 fits in a lot of places that an RV won’t. We definitely appreciated that in our campsite that we had. Jack’s communication was A+, his flexibility was A+, and his RoadTrek 190 was A+. I highly recommend road trekking in Jack’s Big Bertha!

Jack was absolutely fabulous to work with! He communicated frequently and clearly about what to expect leading up to our trip and was available throughout the duration of our trip for questions or follow-up. When we had an unexpected mechanical issue during our trip, Jack responded immediately and took care of it swiftly and effectively, with no interruption to our itinerary (which was truly remarkable). He clearly takes great pride in his vehicle, follows the community of other Roadtrek owners, and maintains it meticulously. He thought of every tiny detail (coffee maker, heat, bear spray, extra blankets, cooler, etc) to ensure that we had a great trip. Indeed, we traveled across five states in 14 days with essentially no needs unmet...a spectacular accomplishment given our general camping naivety.

Great experience! Jack was wonderful in getting us started in our first solo trip in a Roadtrek! He was even on standby and responded quickly when I had questions while on the road. Overall a great experience!

We had a fantastic time with Big Bertha. The kids (5 & 2.5) loved the fold down beds and were sometimes more excited about the van than the parks we visited. Jack takes good care of his vehicle and has excellent communication. Big Bertha fits in regular parking spots, making it easy to adventure anywhere. The campervan has lots of power sources so even when we were not connected to shore power, we could use the microwave, a/c, or cpap for a while. Jack is also very C-19 aware, wore a mask, and reassuringly sanitized everything well - even a few times during our walkthrough. Highly recommend. Thanks for the memories!
