Imagine driving around Oahu in your hotel room on wheels, being able to park in any open parking spot, (No Parking Garages) and taking a warm shower after an amazing day hiking, snorkeling, beach play or any other activity Oahu offers. This Luxe camper has a full bathroom with hot water, microwave, gas cooktop, refrigerator, freezer, DVD player/TV, and a very quiet A/C unit. Lithium batteries automatically recharge when the engine is running. Boogie boards, snorkeling gear, beach chairs and an umbrella for your beach adventures can be supplied on request at no charge. This is not your regular Sprinter van — it is a Roadtrek SS Agile Motorhome. You can sleep, eat, shower in this and don’t need a hotel room. It has upgraded suspension and brakes, upsized wheels and tires, and recently installed ceramic filmed windscreen to reflect heat. Also, the noisy, smelly generator has been removed to provide room for more lithium battery capacity. If this is not the nicest camper van on Oahu, I would be surprised. These cost upwards of $200K new, with the options and upgrades this one has. It’s like a rolling studio apartment and sleep 2 comfortably and 3 as long as the renters are not plus sized :-)What's includedtowels, sheets, pots and pans, plates, bowls cups, silverware, TV, DVD player, roof-mounted AC, vent fans, 400 Amp Hours of lithium batteries, 35 gallon fresh water tank, 10 gallon black water tank, 20 gallon gray water tank, inside flushing toilet, inside and outside showers with hot running water.RecommendationsThe north shore and Mokuleia are great places to park right at or near the beach. Also -- Bellows Beach Park on the weekends. And don't miss the Lanikai Pillbox hike for a spectacular sunrise.Other things to noteThis is not like other campers. It's a true motor home. You can stand up inside unless you're well over 6 feet tall. We spent several months in this touring the mainland in 2019.

Have a question?Get answers directly from the host

Q.Can you drop the van off at our hotel?
A.
Drop off must be with someone authorized to drive the van. And almost no hotel will have a place to park a vehicle this tall. What is available is for you to pay extra for a parking space in a surface lot in Waikiki. That would provide a place to park the van without paying enormous daily rates in town and you would always have a spot. Otherwise parking is nearly impossible in or around Waikiki and town in general.

Q.Do you have a bike rack that can be added on?
A.
No, we don't have a bike rack. We have not found one that is usable that still allows the rear doors to open. In addition, we do not recommend any belongings being left unattended the van. Like all tourist destinations, Hawaii has plenty of opportunists waiting take your stuff.

Q.Do we need to meet in person for pick up and drop off?
A.
For now the answer is yes -- so that I can get ID and signatures and to give you a tour and instruction on using the van's features. However, I am working on a system so that all of this is automated and all instruction is by recorded video. The plan is to have the van parked in a single pick-up and drop off location that also provides a parking spot in town. When that system is in place, this answer will change.

Q.Do you provide any "in-place" campling/parking?
A.
We can accommodate this on request and for a fee. Just note that our place is a little remote and a bit of a drive to get to and from most areas of the island. At present, we do not have any real facilities for this type of service, but we are working on our property to provide a "community" in the near future.
