Bear Valley Trailhead/Upper Campground

This campground is along a scenic meadow near a babbling creek where hiking along the Bear Valley National Recreation Trail is a delightful side trip. The dispersed camping area has 6 picnic tables with fire rings, hand pump for drinking water and a vault toilet. Please pack out your trash since garbage collection services are not available.


Driving directions to Bear Valley Trailhead/Upper Campground

The Bear Valley Trailhead - Upper Campground, is located approximately 28 miles northwest of Leadore in the Lemhi Mountains. Follow Highway 28 north 19 miles to Lemhi. One mile north of Lemhi, turn west on the Hayden Creek Road. Follow Forest Service Road #008 to Bear Valley Creek at 8.5 miles. At this road junction take the right fork, Forest Service Road #009, up Bear Valley Creek Road for 4.7 miles to the Bear Valley (upper) Trailhead Campground.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
