We had an awesome time on maui! The reason for that: Tony and his car. He is a great guy and choosing one of his cars with a roof nest was the best decision. Thanks, Tony! I highly recommend camping on maui in general and Tony in particular!!!

Tony and zoe were incredibly quick with their responses and super helpful. The Pathfinder we used had an issue with the hatch but we worked around it and still had a great time. I would definitely use their services again!

We had a great time with the car. The tent goes up and down very easily and is rain proog (we had a lot of rain in Hana :) ) Tony was also great and his tips were really good. Overall would recommend CampCar and Tony!

We had a great time in Maui with CampCar. Tony - the local contact/guide was super helpful. He explained how to operate the tent. He gave us bunch of recommendations on what to do on the island and was really nice and professional.

The car smelled strange, pieces broke off of it, and the windshield fogged whenever we tried to use the AC. Tony was nice and honest though.

Tony was a great host! Incredibly friendly, full of recommendation and funny/interesting to talk with. The check-in was incredibly smooth and easy, and Tony spent quite some time unravelling the beautiful spots of the island to us.

Van was well stocked with lots of goodies. Our trip had rain most of the trip so we ended up not using the tent but the seating helped our large group navigate the island. We definitely got lots of looks and thumps up from other island goers.

The folks at CampCar were great. The customer service was excellent, they checked in a couple times during our 6 day venture to make sure everything was going ok and provided great insight on some good camping locations.The car handled great, everything was clean and vehicle had relatively low miles and reliable. We experienced no issues with the car and having no restrictions and a 4x4 came in useful more than once, especially during the rain we experienced and driving dirt roads.
They offered a power inverted and a few other nice accessories including wifi which came in handy on the Hana Coast to reference google maps.The Pop up tent was brand new, they are looking at updating more of their vehicles with the new roof nests. It slept 2 adults comfortably and when the screens are closed be careful not to sleep in too long! It stays pretty dark inside! It kept the rain out with no issues as well and held up to winds but we tried to park in sheltered locations facing the wind to prevent any possible issues. We faced unusually wet conditions and it did fine and we stayed dry- until we got outside!Carlo and Tony were great and Chris helped get it all set up and gave us newcomers to Maui some great camping locations. We didn’t stay in any of the developed sites but sought out some more off the beaten path camping locations. This is where the 4x4 came in handy. The vehicle handles well on some rough terrain.
Im an avid off roader and car camper/ backpacker and it was nice having all the included packages. They were not far off from what I bring with me on my own trips in my vehicle back on the mainland (Cooking supplies, Spices, utensils, stove, water jug, sleeping bags, blankets, chairs, coffee kit etc) We used just about everything (Snorkels too)and Tony was very helpful with ensuring we had everything from his cache that we thought we needed. They were very accommodating.I would recommend calling in advance and asking which campgrounds require Permits if you are booking a trip in advance. (Olowalu Beach, Papalaua Beach, Waianapanapa, YMCA camp Keanae.) All were booked atleast 2 days in advance for car campers except YMCA. We stayed off the beaten path away from established campgrounds- Areas Chris recommended to me and they were just what we were looking for. If your looking for a established campground call ahead or book online (with the exception of Kipahulu campground- 1st come 1st serve..)

Carl is super nice, knowledgeable about the area, and provides great recommendations. The vehicle provides excellent/reliable transportation and has an awesome pop-up tent on top. While others had tents that were falling apart in the Maui wind/rain, we were fast asleep in our very stable and dry tent. Nothing like parking in a camp site, popping open a tent in seconds, and sleeping while gazing at the stars.

We traveled al a family with two little girls and had a great time on Maui with the Pathfinder! Carl was very friendly and helpful. The Camper was in very good condition and well equipped. We got cooking equipment as well as Beachtowels, Snorkel and Fins.
