Candy welcomes you to the Big Island of Hawai'i where she and I would love to be your guides to all things loco kine and good!
Candy is a 2009 Chevy Express that Clare converted when traveling the world as a guide and outdoors-woman back on the mainland. She suited the guide life so well for that time, now she lives HERE in Hawaii with Clare and Scott. Wow do we love the change. She is super well taken care of, inside and out, and has been for her whole life (she's got the paperwork to prove it)!
When you book something like this - the bonus of what you're really paying for is the local guidance and doing things in a more adventurous and different way! (can I get a woot woot) We provide this with a custom interactive Map that has been a labor of love to include all information you'd ever need about: Campsites, Beaches, Food, Coffee, Historical Sites, Things to Do, etc. We are available for advice but that map right there can fuel your trip for a month!
We love to keep it CLEAN and as free of salt water and sand as possible - just be mindful to shower off after ocean dips and dry off before sitting / chilling. We don't want to remember you by your butt print! ;)
We keep the basics in stock for you but not TOO much, in order to leave room for your things to fit under the bed as well.

PICK UP & DELIVERY
Candy lives full time at our house so that we can adventure when we have the chance, too! This is where you will pick her up and drop her off.
This is a rental service and not a ride service, so you are responsible for getting to and from the van. While we would love to be there for every rental it’s just not possible to do so and make enough to survive in Hawaii!
We both have full time jobs on top of our own guiding companies. If we are not able to meet up with you and/or offer you a ride, our house is quite close to the airport and a 15 min Uber will be <$40 usually.
If we CAN give you a ride we will be happy to do so for $30 (each way)!
We will send full information for how to find our house, and navigate the van, upon booking.
PLEASE BE AWARE
>> Candy is not a 4WD vehicle so she can not clear roads like Green Sand Beach, ANY PART of Mauna Kea road, or other off roading spots
We do track this with GPS
>> Camping takes some time and planning on Big Island. The interactive map and our advice can help you to plan where to stay
>> It is NOT OK to park her in the middle of wherever and sleep “for free”. This license plate is connected to our records and affects our life in Hawaii. Please be respectful and park and sleep in sanctioned places
>> If you get in a bind we are willing to host you on our land for $40 a night and share our campfire pit and bathroom, and maybe a beer and some conversation ;)
