There are countless opportunities for outdoor fun in the park, from walking to white water rafting, all the while taking in the fresh mountain air. The park is easily accessible from towns such as London, Corbin, and Williamsburg, so it is no wonder that so many people choose to rent an RV in Whitley County.

Getting Outdoors

Of course, one of the most popular things for those making use of the state park RV campgrounds to do is to take a walk to the falls themselves. The falls are also known as Little Niagara, and as soon as you see it, you'll understand why. The falls are about 60 feet high and 125 feet wide, making a pretty impressive sheet of water. There are a few overlooks where you are able to get a great view of the water, such as the lower overlook, where on a hot day, the spray from the water can be very refreshing.

The cliffs and parkland are great for hiking, with a number of trails through the undergrowth and along the banks. One of the most popular is the Eagle Falls Trail. At just 2.5 miles long, this trail is great for a quick stop, with fantastic scenery the whole way. Although the trail starts along the river, it soon begins to climb, which offers beautiful views over the gorge. Overall there are 17 miles of trails to enjoy that cater to a range of difficulties. One of the most challenging is the 13-mile Moonbow Trail, which will have you hugging cliffs and chasing the river. Most of the trails are pet-friendly, meaning you won’t have to leave your furry friend behind in your RV rental.

For an adrenaline rush, visitors to the park can try their hand at white water rafting. With a range of different rapid ratings, the rivers in and around the park can cater for a range of skill levels. You can either paddle by yourself, or if you prefer to simply sit back and enjoy the ride, then it is also possible to hire someone to do all the hard work for you. Water lovers can also take a dip in the cooling water, although there is no lifeguard, on duty and the waters can get pretty busy in the summer months.
