We had a fantastic time on our adventure with Yertle, and Ken was a wonderful host -- super helpful, responsive, and friendly. We saw some truly incredible places.

Performance ratio is not quite right

Ken’s answer

Ridiculous. Typical complaint from someone who said they had a great time throughout their trip but didn’t like being charged for a lost fuel cap resulting in a check engine light. Here’s a tip - when you take someone’s camper out on a trip you should bring it back with all of the components you left with.

Fantastic rig for a 5-day winter trip to Death Valley. It did everything we asked of it, but remember it's not a Rubicon. The back roads were heavily impacted by the floods last summer so it couldn't get up Lippincott but we got up Saline Valley Road no problem, slow and steady. It also weathered a surprise snowstorm in Red Rocks with a 50 mph wind advisory without blowing over. (of course we were parked, nose into the wind but 10/10 would not recommend). The beds were comfy, everything worked, and it was well-kitted out with kitchen supplies.

If I could give more stars I would. From the start, Ken was great. He is knowledgeable, prepared, friendly, and accommodating. Ken gave us great tips and sent us off with everything we needed for a perfect camping trip. The rig performed beautifully and we will be back!

This truck survived Burning Man and was a BIG factor in making our experience and unforgettable one. We were off-grid for 9 days in the Black Rock desert, with no issues on running the fridge, having enough water and energy to charge phones ... and make a morning coffee. Ken was brilliant in the run up to the rental, answering all questions and making sure we had everything we need for the trip. He's knowledge and comms reassured us we had the right rig. TOP MAN. The truck itself is a joy to drive and the the bed probably the most comfortable 'camping' kit I've slept on.

Ken’s answer

Thank you for the kind review. Yertle and Bean have some awesome stories to tell.

Ken was great! The Yertle was amazing as well. The truck drives so smooth and the bed is extremely comfortable.

Everything the other reviews say about Ken is absolutely accurate: he is the most accommodating host imaginable and a true gentleman. Not only did he help us with the early days of our itinerary, he also served as the delivery point for a bag of ours that didn’t arrive on time and hand-delivered it to our friend’s hotel.

Our experience renting from Ken was great. The communication from start to finish was fantastic, and the camper was just what we’d hoped. Such an awesome week of exploring southern Utah.

Renting through Your Own Adventure was amazing. Ken had Vanilla Bean and Yertle stocked and ready to roll out to the desert for an off grid adventure. I highly recommend booking with Your Own Adventure if you are in the Vegas area. His attention to detail and equipment are top notch so you feel prepared to be out in the wild for a few days.

Ken was prompt to answer our initial questions and provided a detailed review of the camper and the truck prior to our departure. Wonderful experience for a week exploring Southern California.

This truck and camper made us fall in love with truck camping!!! Ken was very thorough in his orientation. He showed us all the functions and made everything very easy. It is clear he has spent a lot of time thinking through every aspect of the truck and camper. He prepared that camper for any situation.

We had an absolutely incredible time in the southwest with this truck and camper. The bed is really comfortable and Ken includes tons of items for your camping and cooking needs with the camper. The fridge is bar-sized and held enough food for a week and there is a propane stove for cooking and making coffee. Even though we had overnight weather below freezing, the heating system in the camper kept us warm without a problem. The truck is great for exploring dirt roads and Ken is a genuinely nice guy who was very helpful before, during and after our trip; very communicative and friendly. I’d strongly recommend this camper for anyone who wants to explore off the beaten path in comfort.

Awesome road trip with the camper and truck.
We spent 2 weeks off the grid in Utah and Arizona with many off roads and only free campgrounds.
The camper has a really good power autonomy and you have everything to recharge if necessary (power bank, solar panels...)
In addition, you have everything to cook and to spend a great off roads/outdoor time, enjoying the wilderness and sceneries !
Ken is a great guy, always quickly responsive and available when we had questions or glitches.
Highly recommended

Perfect getaway! Ken is very thoughtful and makes sure you have everything you need, unlike most rental companies that charge for all the extras Ken sends you out with. This truck was perfect for our backcountry trek across Utah. Would definitely rent again!

This truck-camper is perfect. Literally can take it anywhere you want. I stayed mostly on BLM (Bureau of Land Management) sites. Which is “free” and the water supply and battery pack was more than enough for my trip. The truck recharges the battery when your driving or you have solar panels to recharge it. It was super comfy and very well equipped with everything you need to go off the grid or stay at a cramp ground. Highly recommend this truck-camper! B

Ken has done an incredible job of setting this truck up for any adventure you wish to take. This truck is amazing on and off the road. It really does give you the freedom to see anything you want while you have most of the luxuries of home with you. We had a wonderful experience. Ken will go out of his way to provide you with a great experience. Pre-trip, during the trip, and post-trip, he answers questions, explains, and prepares. We definitely want to come back and do this again! Thank you so much!

My partner and I had the most amazing trip with this truck camper. We drove it through Zion, Bryce and Capitol Reef and stayed at a mix of paid camps and free public sites. Ken was a fantastic host and walked us through everything about the truck and camper the day we left. We felt safe and ready for our journey right from the beginning. The features and extras are extremely well thought out. We really didn't need to bring anything beyond the very basics (and he will send you an exact list of everything that is included anyway). For example, don't worry about the can opener or the wine bottle opener - he's got you covered. The truck itself was surprisingly very easy and natural to drive. The side mirrors have blind spot indicators and there's a rear view camera with the screen on whenever the truck is running. It was very easy to get to the off the grid campsites too. It's really cool to be able to be in a remote spot without anyone else, and have all of the things you need to eat, sleep etc with you. During our trip, Ken was also available for any follow up questions or concerns. He gave us his cell at the beginning of the trip. We would definitely do it again in the future, perhaps for longer than 1 week.

Ken’s answer

Thank you for being such amazing and understanding guests. All the best with your Medical careers.

It was my first time renting a trucker camper. I usually get a van. Ken's Toyota Tundra NuCamp setup is pretty sweet. It has high clearance, so it can get you to some remote spots. The couple of advantages vans have is easier entry/exit, and an indoor shower. The interior of the NuCamp is well made and the table is very smart. Plenty of USB outlets.. Ken also provides a useful PowerBar and extra solar panels if you need to keep you laptop charged.
