2019 Coachmen Leprechaun

Class CLaurel, MD
Sleeps 8
30 ft. long

We are so excited about sharing our new Leprechaun. We have only been on a “Shake Down” trip to Florida and few weekends in Pennsylvania.

At 30 feet long it is pretty easy to drive and park. This rig features all of the latest safe driving features including Anti-lock Brake System, Traction Control (on slippery surfaces), StabiliTrak (automatically selectively applies brakes to assist the driver in keeping the vehicle on the intended path), 9 seat-belts (including one position with an attachment point for a child seat) and a back-up camera.

The rig is powered by Chevy’s 6.0L Vortec V-8 engine with ample power to climb hills and smoothly merge into highway traffic. It has power steering, power brakes and a sophisticated control computer that has useful screens for monitoring fuel consumption. A satellite based navigation system is built in and is updated with the latest maps. The system constantly checks the vehicle speed against the posted speed limit and provides visual as well as audible warnings. (This can be a real ticket saver when travelling through unfamiliar territory). The cab features (2) 12 volt outlets (2) USB charging ports and a 110 volt outlet that runs off the engine system’s inverter.

According to the manufacturer the unit sleeps 8 but you should carefully consider the size of the sleeping areas relative to your party. The back features a residential size queen bed (60” X 80”). The over the cab area is larger at (57” X 95”) and has a safety net to keep the kiddies from rolling out at night. The couch folds down into a bed (42” X 62”) and the dining table combines with the bench seats to form a bed (42” X 71”).

With the non-standard sizes of the sleeping areas (except for the queen bed) it is possible to use sheets and blankets but sleeping bags and pillows are a better idea. If you don’t have your own bags check out the add-on section of the listing for a reasonable upgrade.

The coach has everything you would expect for your living convenience and a few extras you might not think about. In the kitchen it has a gas stove, gas oven, gas and electric refrigerator, microwave, upgraded sink with a pull-out hose style faucet and GFI outlets for small appliances. It has gas heat, gas hot water, overhead electric air-conditioner that has been ducted throughout the coach for quite operation and a built in generator powerful enough to run all of the systems simultaneously. The controls are simple and the thermostat looks and behaves just like the one in your house. The windows are larger than average and all have privacy shades. The interior lighting is bright and sensibly controlled.

The “split bath” is great, having the toilet separate from the shower is super convenient. The bathroom has been upgrade with a porcelain sink and porcelain toilet with a residential style soft closing seat (this may not seem like a big deal until you use a cheap plastic one).

On the entertainment front there is a 32” Hdtv with DVD player attached and Roku device for streaming content in the main cabin area. There is a 24” Hdtv screen with built-in DVD player in the back bedroom and a 26” Hdtv Roku TV with DVD player in the outdoor entertainment area. They are all connected to the amplified over-the-air antenna and the cable-tv inlet (when available at the campground). There is also a built in Wi-Fi router and signal amplifying system. (While this system can’t amplify a non-existent signal, it can turn a weak campground Wi-Fi signal into a useful one).

We love the outdoors which is part of why we got this coach in the first place. The powered awning has sensible controls and extends over a surprising large area. The awning is 20 feet long and has an LED light strip that extends over its full length making your camp area bright without being harsh. The outdoor TV area is under the cover as is the low pressure gas outlet that powers the optional outdoor grill (see add-ons section).

We outfit the coach the same way we use it without adding any additional charges. The kitchen is fully outfitted with pots and pans, bake-ware, utensils, plates and dishes, flatware, cold cups and coffee cups. If you are think you will use paper and plastic we can remove anything you won’t use to save space. We include the chemicals and paper for the toilet and towels and wash clothes for the bath.

If I was reading this description I would have a lot of questions and would like to see the coach in person, maybe even take a test drive before committing to a rental. So reach out, click that "Message Owner" button below and lets set something up!

Meet your host, Tim

Member since 2018

We live in Maryland and bought the RV primarily to go Camping with our four Grandchildren between now and retirement and then to travel longer term in retirement. We also have a house in Ft Myers Florida so I don't see us ever being full-time in an RV. We have a big sweet black lab named Jackson he loves his people, but I not so sure he loves the RV. Although we have both camped since childhood we have never owned a motor-home in the past so this will be all new to us.
