We were grateful to find this car last minute! And we were very pleased to receive all of the camping gear free of charge for the week. However the car had mechanical issues and therefor was a bit stressful to drive, also the radio never worked, but the beautiful island of Kauai made it all ok.

Loved having the camping equipment. Car was very clean when I got it.
My only concern is a possible mechanical issue with the car that kept me from exploring as much as I wanted to. But very happy I got to have this experience and would recommend a car camping experience to anyone who is up for it! Great way to explore the island. Photos are from sunrise in Waimea canyon.

The communication with the host was definitely not good. I had 0 information about how to check in, had to call customer service 4 times. No one was there to show me the car when picking up, or showing me around important stuff about the car or even give me the keys. The host did not help me at all and answered half of the questions i was asking to be ready beforehand. Also i requested only a mattress and sheet, I ended up with full camping gears which i did not ask for and i hope I will not be charged for it or this will be beyond ridiculous
I picked up the car clean, but it is really rusty underneath, so any little hill you go up, it will start smoking and smell like really hot from underneath the car. Other than that, car is great for roadtripping.

Aloha Virgil I apologize for giving you the extra camping gear but as we both agreed you said you would appreciate it and I did not charge you for it, I thought you were appreciative of it. Im confused as to the car smoking as you never mentioned it al all and said you had a great trip. Also previous renter and after you never had an issue. I was out of cellular service range for a few hours but never had any missed messages. While Im happy you had a great Island visit I am sad you didn't reach out to me with any issues. We strive so hard to give guests a way to visit Kauai affordable and enjoyable ...

We had one exciting and nice week in kauai with the car and rented the camping package additional
However one of the tent corners where broken the cooler is not really a cooler just a bag so the camping package (although 30$ a day) was disappointing.
The car is old and rusty but does its thing!
What is annoying and came to a surprise to us is that the pick up 30$ and drop off 30$ at the airport is mandatory and there is also a park ticket to leave the airport parking lot which was 45$
So calculate 104$ additional to your trip you may not consider

Our camper provides one of the only affordable ways to explore the island. It is one of the Best Rentals on the island. I’m surprised you thought the car was old and rusty as we’ve had comments saying how nice it is. I guess it’s not a Tesla but you can camp in her :-) you requested the airport pick up and drop off. I would highly recommend that to all who come because it is the same price to take an Uber to get the car and takes at least an hour each way. This way you can just walk out of your terminal and hop into your car and go. Super time saving and let you get on your way. Also I refunded you the parking ticket that was the extra day :-) but I am so glad you guys had a wonderful vacation regardless :) mahalo nui

Dropoff of car to airport as agreed upon was overlooked by Becky, resulting in her being late and us having to cancel vacation plans. Only 3 seatbelts function, zippers on tent not working, fitted sheet does not fit air mattress, had to buy a can opener for camp kit.

I’m wondering why you had to “cancel” your vacation as we dropped off the car directly to you at no cost and even got you a free parking pass. As far as the seatbelts they all correctly function. You never need made mention until after your trip about zippers or anything else until you complain to Outdoorsy and receiving your entire rental amount back. And our camping package clearly states what we supply. If you needed a can opener or you could’ve just called me and I would’ve brought one to you. It’s unfortunate that you said you were going to leave me a great review I can even screenshot it and then ask for your money back from Outdoorsy after your vacation when you said you had a wonderful trip. Very sad that there are people that take advantage:(

Nice adventure and comfortable to sleep, although happy to sleep in a bed again. Perfect way to travel on short budget. Camping equipment not very comprehensive for cooking..
