Well...the story began the moment we turned the key on RELL SUNN and proceeded down the PCH to Malibu, then across the desert to Joshua Tree with a final destination of Huntington Beach. RELL is a REAL 1978 VW Vintage Van so expect the "vintage" in her. I didn't mind that there is no power steering, gave us a good workout! Especially while navigating our way through our first stop - the winding drive-through of In & Out Burger! Worth every OMG I won't be able to turn but...I did and got even better at it as the bond continued with RELL SUNN. She starts well in warmer climates and slightly challenging at times but in the end RELL would get us to our destinations in style! Don't expect RELL to go up a mountain like a Porsche...caution lights help to assists during the climb up alerting other drivers we are not in a rush, and yes...the little engine that could played out in this trip. Great experience, challenging experience but overall a beautiful and memorable experience. Bill was super helpful checking us in and giving us the VW101 lessons on how to operate this beauty. Thank you Vintage Surfer Wagons for a memorable trip down memory lane. Who doesn't have a story about a VW van? And if you don't it's never too late to begin.

Diane and Bill are treasures of SoCal and were a joy to rent from. The experience is one of a kind and renting from them is everything you'd hope for and more. They go the extra mile and the vehicles are the epitome of a joyride. Do it! You won't regret it :)

We had the most amazing time cruising up PCH in Rell Sunn! The owners are wonderful to work with. They are knowledgeable about their vans and VW's in general. They make the renting process seamless and truly want you to have a good time. The vans are decorated super cute and has everything you need. It even had Bluetooth, usb along with outlets. Everything worked great! People loved the van and would stop to take photos. A few of our highlights were watching the sunsets out of the van while snacking on a cheese board and wine. Also, the mornings laying in the back with the back door open watching the surf with a cup of coffee in hand. We had the most amazing time. Highly recommend renting a VW van from Vintage Surfari Wagons. They are the best!!

You’re not just renting wheels. You’re participating in an experience. A rich, memorable trip down memory lane. Bill and Diane are the ideal hosts. My van was Lady Orange Julius. I slept in her, I ate in her and and we motored together. Like all love affairs it was deep and tender, all at the same time. I feel a little lonely out here at LAX. But she’s in my head forever and ever. See ya’ later Bill, Diane and of course Lady Orange Julius.
