Cole let us pick up the vehicle early which was a big help for our first day. However the vehicle was not clean so the first thing we had to do was purchase some cleaning products and wipe down the interior surfaces. The camp stove and cookware were very useful however we had to clean everything before we could use it. All the bedding was clean. The headlights need to be adjusted or replaced because driving at night was a hazard due to the lights pointing downwards instead of towards the front of the vehicle. The vehicle worked great and we had a great time in Maui. Cole and his partner were friendly.

The pop up tent was easy to set up and take down. The truck was great to drive and Cole provided everything necessary… Stove, cooler, chairs, kitchen supplies and extra blankets. We loved exploring maui in this vehicle

The camper SUV was great and got us where we needed to go around the island of Maui. We did a lot of driving, and it was able to handle it all - road to Hana, Kihei/Wailea, and around West Maui. That said, there were some notable cleanliness issues with the car - it's obvious the dishes hadn't been washed from the previous renters, the rooftop tent had issues that needed to be fixed before we departed (delaying and rushing our first day), and ultimately we found roaches under the floor mats of the car the first night which meant we were limited in keeping food in the car all week. There were a few basics we were missing for a camper vehicle such as a lantern and soap to clean dishes, but overall we had most things we needed. Cole included an extra tent for us which was helpful the final night when we weren't able to book a car camping site, so we appreciated that. We had the SUV for four days and only needed to get gas once (to bring it to full) and then at the end of our trip (to return it to half tank), so it seemed to get pretty good gas mileage overall.

Vehicle was good and hosts provided an extra tent and sleeping backs which was great. Only issues were the brake pads needed to be replaced and the mattress inside the pop tent smelled like mildue so we didnt use it.

We had an absolute blast on our trip. The car was reliable and had everything we needed for our three day trip. Bonus points to Cole for accommodating us after arriving very early. Would definitely book again!

The hosts were very nice and friendly. The vehicle was good, it has the necessary stuff to camp bit ai would recommend to bring an inflatable mattress as the memory foam is super thin and might be unconfortable when sleeping on it. The vehicle worked perfectly on all the roads and for the amount of driving done.

I totally enjoyed traveling the whole island with the XTerra! The tent is easy to set up and the SUV is the perfect size to drive everywhere- even the rocky backside if you want to. Cole was helpful to point out some free sleeping spots as I couldn’t book campnites for everyday. His wife Maria is friendly and welcoming. She even gave me a ride back to the airport :) If you’re canadian, please bring them a bag of ketchup or dill pickle chips- they would be thankful-haha! Vehicle sleeps no more than 2 inside pop up tent. It includes minimal cooking equipment, a 2” sleeping pad and a small ground tent. The Xterra is a 2014, with roof stains inside and only charges a phone while running. It handled the drive to Haleakala and the road to Hana well.

We had a FANTASTIC experience traveling around the island in this xterra! It was the perfect vehicle to get around the island and we felt very safe. The tent is super easy to pop up and spacious inside! It rained a few nights but we had read the reviews and knew to let the tent dry out before folding it down. The owners were responsive and easy to work with!

The best way to get around Maui hands down. My husband and 2 young kids used this car and tent during our stay, although we never actually camped overnight in it (state/national park campgrounds were closed), we still got a ton of use out of it. Handled the road to Hana just fine. We went to watch the Haleakala sunrise, got the first space in the parking lot, popped up the rooftop tent, and had THE BEST view of the sunrise in our warm and cozy tent, my kids absolutely loved it. We also used the pop up tent & snorkel gear that Cole kindly provided. He even let us borrow a car seat cause we forgot to bring my daughter’s booster seat. The car wasn’t super clean when we got it but it didn’t bother us, we’re in Maui and were expecting to have a fun outdoor experience so it fit the bill. Overall great experience and would 100% rent from Cole again.

The "Falcon" as we called it was a great ride and kept us cruising along confidently through our whole stay. People assumed we were locals everywhere we went because the car doesn't look like a rental. Definitely a unique perk!

Great vehicle to do the road to Hana in! Since you look like a local with it, people will get out of your way and give you compliments! Cole is also very informative with stuff around the island. Overall a great experience and would definitely come back!

The electric tent is perfect: easy to use and very confortable. Even during rainy nights, we slept well, and that is the most important.

Cole’s car is perfect to cruise all around Maui. We did the whole tour of the island without any problems from Hana loop road to west Maui. We slept in Olowalu campground, Haycraft beach, wanapanapa, and hosmer grove. If you want a quick rooftop tent setup, you need to get this car! It’s literally a 3 mins setup and bedding and pillows can stay in the tent. It was very easy to settle. The only cons was the ladder that was broken but usable. The beach gear need to be renewed, fins were broken, snorkel was missing and other was full of scratch you couldn’t see anything, beach chair was broken. Bring at least your snorkel and mask gear. Tip: Don’t fold the tent after it rain, it will soak the mattress inside the tent. Don’t think there is a full kitchen accessories, but you can manage something easy to cook.

We had a great trip to Maui and went on a little camping adventure with this camper. The vehicle was ok overall and good for the drive to Hana. The tent was very good quality and super easy to set up. This was a great value compared to other comparable listings, and we didn't have any real issues.

Cole and his Nissan Xterra were absolutely amazing. This is hands down the best way to explore all that the island has to offer in an economical way. Cole was awesome and made the pick up process very seamless. We parked our camper at multiple campgrounds on the Road to Hana as well as around Olowalu area where you can just pull over to the sode of the road and park right on the beach! We were able to travel around the entire island and explore the Road to Hana like a local by downloading a great App called the Shaka Guide. It was $12.99 but was completely worth the money as we were guided around Maui in the app exploring hidden gems and all the beauty that Maui has to offer. A huge Thank You to Cole and his wife for absolutely making our trip to Maui incredible. I feel bad for the visitors to Maui who dont have the ability to sleep above their vehicle as they would not be able to explore the island in the same manner. It was so great to have transportation + lodging in one, courtesy of Cole's Xterra Camper! We saw almost the entire perimeter of Maui safely and with off-the-main-drag accommodations, enabling us to enjoy as much mileage and as many sights as possible but without the crowded "high season" feel. Cole was super nice and showed us how the automatic tent worked before we hit the road. But double check the kitchen gear provided, too -- we realized a propane grill attachment was missing AFTER we'd settled in to make some boil-in-a-bag curry on night 1 away from any restaurants, oops. All in all, a super experience and you should rent this vehicle for your Maui adventure, too!

Had a great experience renting with Cole. Would 100% rent this vehicle again. It was clean (as much as it can be with everyone taking it camping) and I’m good mechanical condition. There were no cockroaches (like some previous reviews had noticed). The battery was dead when I first came to pick it up, so Cole went and bought a new battery and brand new mobile charging unit, and I was off on my adventures within an hour. I took this vehicle up to Polipoli on the 4x4 road and no issues. The automatic tent is freaking awesome and that I’m and of itself is a reason to rent, let alone all the other camping gear he lends (tents, chairs, cooking supplies, bedding, etc). I’m a female and this wasn’t my first time camping by myself. I felt comfortable and safe the entire week and the tent and ladder were super easy to use. In fact I was the envy of the campsites lol. Cole and his family are super laid back and easy to work with. Being raised in Maui, Cole gave great recommendations on places to eat and hikes to do and even how to see Haleakalā sunrise. Which worked and I was able to see both sunset and sunrise (I highly recommend sunset over sunrise). Great experience over all!

Coles car was an awesome way to see Maui. Roof tent was super easy to use and gave us freedom to camp in Maui. However there were a few things that were listed that we didn't get, like missing bits of snorkelling gear, no gas for the cooker/grill and the car was given to us on a fuel light. Would definitely rent again, cole dropped us off at the airport when we dropped the car back which was nice.

Cole and his family were friendly and easy to deal with. They did us a solid renting day of on a holiday when another rental was a bust. The rush left the car a little less organized/clean than what we presume was typical and we did find a few cockroaches, but that’s pretty typical for Hawaii. The motorized rooftop tent is great and airport drop off a plus. Thanks!

The tent and bedding were comfortable and clean and the XTerra was great for getting around in. The tent on top automatically folds up and down and you can just leave the bedding inside, which makes for quick packing up if you want to move camp or head into town. Cole was super friendly and offered lots of suggestions. I would definitely rent this vehicle again! Comes with cook stove, cooking gear, chairs, and an extra tent and inflatable mattress.

This car was amazing for camping around Maui. The rooftop tent was convenient and easy to use. Because there is not a separate tent footprint we could camp almost anywhere with no problem. The vehicle was able to navigate windy roads very well. Cole was very accommodating - highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay in this car. The rooftop tent is electrical and easy to handle. It is pretty new! But do not close it during heavy rain...
The communication with Cole was easy and he was really helpful.

The Xterra was great to have on the island especially with all the rain we had. Had no problems anywhere we went. The pop up was a little on the difficult side. It used a ratchet to pop it up and the last day it broke. Luckily for the next people who rent it is that Cole got a new pop up that is electrical. Overall the price of the xterra was worth it. Getting a place to stay and a car for that price was awesome. Camped at Olowalu which had great facilities and a beautiful sunset, and also camped at Waianapanapa State Park which was very primative but a great place to get up and start adventures, with great sunrises. Would recommend now with the new electric pop up.

Our trip was last minute and on a very tight budget, with the option I had, I went with this offering, and I never could ask more.....it had all camping essentials needed for 4 folks including tent camp and air bed. Wish it was little more organized and clean, but for the price you can't ask more.

Cole was very helpful, he is enthusiastic about Maui and was really keen to tell us about the island and wanted us to have a great trip. The vehicle is a great set up for camping, we did have a few issues the major one being the bugs in the car and the cleanliness on pick up. He did however deal with the bugs (with insecticide) a day later when we went back to complain. Mechanically the hand brake didn't work, and the airbag light remained on throughout the week.
