Ridgely is a small town and is a part of Caroline County, Maryland. It was built in 1867 after the land was purchased from Thomas Bell and Reverend Greenbury W. Ridgely, after whom it was named. An increase in railroad line construction inspired land speculation, leading to the town's creation, but the town went bankrupt, and construction was halted with the town's design unfinished. The existing properties were auctioned off, and the town continued to grow due to its proximity to the Maryland and Delaware railway line but much more slowly. Its economy survived, relying on agriculture; products such as fruit, vegetables, and poultry which were processed there or shipped elsewhere by rail. As highways began to replace railways and urbanization became increasingly common, Ridgely's economy began to shrink. Today it is known as the "Strawberry Capital of the World" and has a historical society documenting its existence.

RV rentals in Caroline County can help guarantee a stress and worry-free vacation. Other communities are also worth visiting. Bowie was included in CNN Money's “Best Places to Live in America” in 2014. Waldorf began as a tobacco industry town but gained recognition when gambling was legalized from 1949 to 1968. Cambridge was one of the first colonial cities to be constructed in Maryland; it was named by the colonists who arrived there from England. Your Ridgely travel trailer rental is how you will see and experience this historical area.

Wye Island NRMA is managed by the Maryland Park Service, providing recreation, agriculture, and resource restoration. One of the MPS' primary objectives is to stabilize and reverse the erosion of the shoreline. It is open from sunrise to sunset, allowing visitors to enjoy hunting, fishing and boating, as well as hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding along the many miles of trails. The area is mostly flat and has stands of hardwood trees, Osage orange trees, and a nearly 300-year-old holly tree.
