About this RV
About the host
We had an enjoyable weekend in the Thor ACE 27.2. James gave a thorough briefing before our trip. He was delightful to work with. We would rent this rig again.
James was terrific! We never rented an RV before. He went through an orientation. Was very clear and patient with us.
Also, and this was critical, he returned our texts immediately and provided support when needed.
James did a good job on explaining everything about the RV and how to use and operate, this was my first time using a RV. If I had questions or anything he was quick to respond back. RV performed and did its job for me while I used it for a week.

This was first experience renting and it worked out better than expected. James is very accommodating and very honest. The RV has a great layout and the king size bed is a bonus feature not found in many RV models. RV drives like a big SUV and is super easy to handle.

We had a positive experience renting our first RV. James responded quickly to our many questions throughout the process. He takes pride in his RV and carefully explained all the functions during a full face-to-face orientation. Since we decided to visit a nearby state park, James even picked up the RV on our last day and offered to deliver and set it up on our first day. We could not have asked for a more considerate and responsive host. The RV matched the description, and we enjoyed the comfy captain's chairs while driving up and down the coast with our extended family. The inside of the RV was neat and clean, but we would have liked for the outside of the windows to have been spotless for viewing, (it rained the day before pickup). As beginners with RV's, a few bits of knowledge would have helped us. First, the king size 'bedroom' felt amazingly spacious with room to walk all the way around 3 sides of the bed. But the slideout took up the entire space when traveling which made the sitting space cramped for our extended family when driving. We are large people, so the standard mattress was a little thin. Future renters might want to bring along a topper. Also, with the exception of the king sized bed, none of the other beds had linens. This required an unexpected expense and inconvenient trip to the store at bedtime. The beds are not standard length for a home, likely a well-known fact to RVers, so my tall son and daughter-in-law slept in my brother's condo on a hide-a-bed rather than scrunch into the short beds on the RV. However, the 3 kids had a blast sleeping close to each other on the 3 separate beds and had plenty of room. We had planned to plug in at my brother's rented condo, but James does not allow renters to use his converter cord due to previous renter nearly burning down his RV, so we had to change our plan. The nearby campground at Wickham State Park was cheap but 20 mins away from the condo which was on the beach. One final note for a potential beginner renter is that the air conditioner did not cool the RV in summer heat while driving or parked on pavement. When parked under a tree on gravel/grass at the campsite, the RV got cold enough for a light blanket. But while driving, we were very hot in the back. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will rent again. James was very helpful and attentive for RV beginners!
James is easy to work with and everything on his RV was as described. The unit was very clean and well maintained.
