Meet Ellie!
She’s a well-loved 4runner V8 expedition vehicle that has traveled the world. Originally built for the Global Extremes tv show where she transported the athletes in comfort to their competition sites in Kalahari, North Cape, South Africa; Costa Rica, and Iceland ending with a live broadcasted summit to the top of Mt Everest(The participants, the Runner was at basecamp)
After her world travels she returned to the States eager to keep exploring and what better place than Montana. A state that is full of beauty, camping, fishing, hiking, and endless miles of dirt roads. She’s been recently outfitted with a new rooftop tent - pop-up style so it’s quick to set up and put away. A new Radio with CarPlay to make navigation and those necessary tunes on your travels seamless. Because she’s meant for extended trips the rear hatch has a pullout kitchen, with a stove, cooking utensils, extra prep space, and everything to enhance your culinary creations. And there is nothing more frustrating than cooking in the dark, so we added food prep lights in the 4runner’s hatch for those nights when you roll into camp late.Off-road comfort and capability are extremely important in an overland expedition vehicle and she’s not lacking in any of those areas. Equipped with rugged All-terrain tires, remote reservoir shocks, full-time all-wheel drive, body armor, a rear ladder, safari lights to help spot those deer as the sun goes down, and much more. She’s ready to road trip through the national parks and explore off the beaten path in search of those perfect sunset spots. What's includedFor your comfort we Include:

RecommendationsMontana is a beautiful place filled with wonder and excitement. Of course three of the most beautiful National parks are within range: Glacier, Yellowstone, and The Grand Tetons. But there is so much more.
-If you are headed toward Glacier, be sure to stop and enjoy the crystal clear waters of flathead lake, and hopefully, the cherries and berries are in season. Swing through and check out Hungryhorse reservoir and explore the 112+ mile trip around the outside to find campgrounds and secluded wild camping spots, don't forget to stop in town for some of the best Huckleberry everything. Or cut over to Whitefish or Kalispell and check out their charming downtowns.
-In Missoula, catch a late-night movie on the field in the ballpark, sample one of many killer breweries, float the rivers, or take in the music scene in its lively downtown.
-If near Missoula you can pop over to northern Idaho to see the stunning waters of Coeur d'Alene and be sure to stop in the charming historic mining town of Wallace on the way
-Just South of Missoula gets you into the Heart of the Bitterroot: head to the mountains to find Hot springs and hikes, stick to the Vally to hit up the Breweries and distilleries that serve as gathering places in each small town as you head south, LOLO, Stevensville, Hamilton and of course the home of where the show Yellowsonte is filmed, Darby! The Bitterroot is home to world-class fishing and hunting as well.
Headed toward Yellowstone? Be sure to make time to stop by the historic mining town of Philipsburg, sure it's a little out of the way, but man is it worth it! Stop by the historic candy shop for treats galore! Once in Bozeman be sure to head downtown for shopping shopping shopping and some of the great restaurants the state has to offer! From there you can take the normal route to the park through Big Sky and the legendary West Yellowstone entrance, or if time permits head over to Red Lodge and take the unforgettable Beartooth scenic byway, it will take a bit longer, but it's worth it!
Once you have had your fill of Yellowstone continue south into The Grand Teton national park for stunning mountains and the uber charming town of Jackson (Hole)WY
Regardless of which way you decide to go, you are up for the adventure of a lifetime and once you decide where you are headed, reach out for any specific recommendations on an area, we have plenty and would be happy to share a few pointers regardless if you are hoteling it, hitting campgrounds or prefer to wild camp we have tips to make your trip that much more memorable.
Other things to note-Rules of the Road-
-Fuel- We will make sure it's full for you when you arrive. Please do the same for us when it returns. Or the Full refill fee will be charged.
-Expedition vehicles- Our vehicles are and have been to a lot of beautiful places and frequently travel off-grid. One of the dangers of traveling thousands of miles off-road is that the delicate side of them, their paint, takes a beating. That being said they are not pristine, they have some dents and scrapes from narrow trails with trees we have encountered over the years. It's part of their character but if you are expecting a pristine new vehicle these are not them. Any deep scratches have been touched up and we do keep them looking as good as they can with wax jobs and polishes! That being said and knowing how we use them and what we expect of them we are meticulous with their maintenance and keep up with it regularly, inspections happen frequently and any new noises are inspected and resolved. These are our expedition vehicles and they will take you to great places and do it with comfort and reliability, just as they have done for us over the years.
-Pets- We have them and we love them. Furry friends are Welcome however, no Felines or Rodents. Please advise the size, breed, and age of your little friend. Please treat our vehicles like you would your own. If you bring it back sans pet hair and any pet accidents we will not charge the additional pet cleaning fee. That would be greatly appreciated. Especially if we have to get this to another renter the same day.
-No Smoking or drug use is allowed in the vehicle, your entire security deposit will be held until remediation can be obtained. Whatever the remediation specialist charges PLUS a service fee of $100 will be assessed out of the security deposit and any remaining balance will be refunded to the renter as long and there are no other overages or damages.
-You are responsible for any ticket, tolls, tows, and impounds. Even if the notice arrives after late fees and admin fees have compounded.
-Tire damage is the responsibility of the renter, if the renter believes it is due to negligence, the tire must be brought back for a professional evaluation. Reimbursement is based on that result
-If there is a mechanical failure or problem requiring roadside assistance, the renter should call the roadside assistance number provided by the insurer and alert the owner immediately. RENTER SHALL NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE REPAIRS. Out of pocket expenses for repairs required and which are not covered by insurance or roadside assistance will be reimbursed by the owner upon return of the vehicle as long as the owner is made aware prior to such repairs and receipts are provided
-Renter is responsible for checking/ maintaining engine oil level, tire pressure, and coolant levels at each refueling. Cost due to negligence resulting in mechanical damage or tire damage will be the renter’s responsibility. (Be advised ALL fluids and tire levels are checked before we deliver the vehicle to you to be sure it's in perfect shape when you arrive, After all, these are Toyotas!)
-Owner will provide information on the operation of the rig at the time of pickup and will provide instruction manuals for the operation of rig systems, features, and appliances. It is the renter’s responsibility to understand and follow instructions. Failure to use proper handling of any of the systems, features, or appliances in the rig may result in damage, and the renter will be liable for the cost to repair.
-Normal Hours: Vehicles must be returned from 9 am -Noon, 12:01 you are late and may incur a late fee. Vehicle pick up is from 3 pm-5, at 5:01 you are late and may incur a late fee. Deliveries are from 1 until 3 pm. Renter must be present at the time of delivery. RV slot reservation confirmation must be provided to the owner at least two days before delivery. No first come first serve RV slots will be accommodated. Any Pickup or drop-off outside of these times must be negotiated before your arrival. We realize Missoula airport can have difficult arrival times, please reach out before your arrival to arrange pickup or dropoff at a different time than specified. We can be flexible and frankly have to be with the airport hours.
-No Mud or Rock Crawling
While these are Overland Rigs and very capable, there is to be no Rockcrawling or mudding in them. They are to be used only on approved forest roads and graded dirt roads. While we encourage boondocking and wild camping we know there can be small muddy sections and dusty roads. Any evidence of heavy offroad use or mudding and an excessive cleaning fee and or certified repairs will be charged to the renter from the deposit. Regular trail dust and small mud puddle splashes happen.
_The full History of Ellie-To make things even more fun, Life started for her as a TV show car! That's right this T4R was one of 4 specially built just for the TV show "Global Extremes – 4 Runners of Adventure". It was an adventure TV series that had contestants complete challenges as they worked through different areas of the world. Safari Guard custom-made all the bumper covers and a hideaway winch for it. The trucks started their competition in Moab UT and Elk Mountain Colorado, then the 12 finalists competed in difficult challenges in the Kalahari, North Cape, South Africa; Costa Rica, and Iceland that eliminated all but five participants. The final five athletes then attempted an ascent to the summit of Mt. Everest - televised live - to commemorate the 50th anniversary of world-renowned adventurer Sir Edmund Hillary's ascent. So yeah, This 4runner has a colorful history of adventure since its first day and she hasn't let up since.

Ellie was awesome and we had an amazing experience both with her and Brett to set everything up. It couldn’t have gone smoother. A+ all the way around!!

Ellie is a great adventure rig to travel with! I did a two week trip with her and she handled everything I wanted to do. The tent was very comfortable and easy to setup, and held up in a night of thunderstorms. Having all the cooking utilities available was a lifesaver in Glacier since there were campfire bans, and it was easy to setup with everything you need. And including all the extras like chairs, chargers, blankets, a cooler, etc is an extra nice touch. Being able to boondock camp anywhere made my trip so much more fun and easier to plan. Brett is a great host and super communicative, and was willing to be flexible with pick up location and drop off time. Would definitely recommend!

The overlanding vehicle was amazing, we had such a great trip traveling through glacier and waterton national parks. The slide out kitchen was perfect, we just stopped anywhere with a pretty view and made lunch. The tent top was awesome, it was so so easy to set up and after like 2 times of taking it down it was a breeze as well. My only negative feedback is that the towels didn't make it into the vehicle from when it was cleaned, and that was a bummer because we did not bring any. Also the listing said 4 pillows and there were only 2, maybe it just needs to be updated (4 would of been perfect).
5 stars hands down "Ellie".

Ellie is a great rig! We cooked yummy food in the pull out camp kitchen which included lots of little extras to make it easy. The bed and bedding were comfy and the tent space was surprisingly roomy. It was great having all our things with us where ever we wanted to go or stop and the vehicle was a comfortable ride. Brett was helpful and quick to respond with questions during planning as well as during the trip. Highly recommend this adventure!

Ellie is a great rig! Had her for 4 days in and around Glacier National Park, it was amazing! Very easy to set up camp, we had everything we needed. We hit a decent amount of rain during the trip, but the tent kept us nice and dry. Brett was a great host! He met us as the airport at the beginning of the trip and then at our hotel for the last night. He gave us some awesome recommendations that we wouldn’t have know about otherwise. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking to get out into nature and explore!!

Brett’s answer

Thanks Renee. We’re so glad you kept dry and had a wonderful trip. Thanks for coming out. We hope to see you again soon
