The cities are suburbs of St. Louis, one of the largest cities in the Midwest. Although this RV campground is in the middle of the beautiful Midwestern countryside, it's an accessible vacation destination for those who want to stay close to a big city. The campground is a short drive from the Mississippi River and the Illinois border, as well.

Dardenne Island itself is a conservation area full of diverse wildlife. Waterfowl hunting is permitted here, provided you follow Missouri's state hunting regulations. Trapping is also allowed with a special permit.
