Take gas gauge photos on level ground or in exactly the same parking spot pickup & drop off. The gauge is affected by sloped street. Allow owner to be closely involved in any repair or to help resolve issues rather than doing it yourself. It could prevent damage, loss of time and may be much easier!

Jeffrey Phillips canceled the booking 1 day before departure. This is an automated posting.

The 3 of us travelled from Tacoma to Jeff’s place; we got the key and took off east.
Everything worked well.

This RV was/is a DEATH TRAP and the owner, Jeff, is very neglectful in maintaining it. We rented for a week to drive to Aspen, pick up our mother and take her on a surprise trip to Yellowstone in route back to Seattle. Leaving Aspen the trip turned into a nightmare. The portable fan that was provided caught on fire and the fire extinguisher was 20+ years old and unusable. Next, the hard plastic cover to the air conditioning unit (which doesn't work) blew off on the freeway (owner later admitted it was cracked). Fortunately no cars were behind us!

There are two parts to this review. Jeffrey was good to work with and did what he could to make things easy. I would definitely rent from him again.

Jeffrey’s answer

Its 24 years old with 70k miles on it. The post indicates no abs but to be more specific ford has a common problem, the shop can't seem to resolve it permanently. Drawers are made of very low quality material so its hard to keep them all in order especially between trips in summer.
I did not receive any report of trouble with cruise control but trailer lights are notoriously bad on most rvs and its likely a glitchy tail light bulb turning off the cruise. I'm glad to know about it and will work on it. Thanks for renting and yes I would again as well, my other two are newer so please check them out for next time.

A very friendly and helping host, flexible and approachable if anything goes wrong. Well, and you need it. The Chateau had to get repaired and we received the Okanagan, and that - is a 30 years old van. Beautiful, but lots of wear and tear and some things not working.

Jeffrey’s answer

Claus and family were wonderful to work with and he drives a hard bargain so be prepared to give your best sales pitch. By the end I think he got back about 1/3 of the price and I only charged him $57/night to start with by some sort of error a year earlier! It was all worth it though! It was peak season and we faced some unusual problems. In all the years I've never had a customer return more than a few hours late without asking. They came all the way around the world and when they got here my RV was NOT here, the previous group simply kept it almost 2 extra days (partly a hidden auto booking glitch I didn't know could happen and partly by choice without even asking or telling me). I had to give them a different vehicle (which was actually his first choice a year earlier so don't let Claus fool you that he didn't know it was 30 years old, he knew! smile) Unknown to us at the time the van would develop a bad fuel regulator during the trip which for the last few days gave lower power etc. but it did not break down. On there final couple of days I was able to meet up with them and trade them back the Chateau so they could end the trip in the one they should have started in. Sometimes you have to focus on the good and Claus delivers..... I will be posting some of his photos which are truly beautiful and the Okanagan Van doesn't look half bad in them either! The very next group in the Van crushed the roof at a gas station so unfortunately it may never be the same. Thank you Claus! Life is short, even for camper vans so live it up I say!

We wanted a very affordable and reliable RV - and that's what Jeffrey delivered. It has been well loved, but everything needed was there.
