Discover Pahrump

The Great Outdoors

The town of Pahrump is lucky enough to be surrounded by some stunning natural landscapes. One of these areas is the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, which lies in Nevada's Mojave Desert. A visit to this landscape is likely to leave you breathless, with towering red sandstone peaks, the incredible Keystone Thurt Faults, and as the name suggests, beautiful red rocks. One of the best ways to see the area is to take the 13-mile scenic drive in your RV rental from Pahrump, which has plenty of photo opportunities along the way.

A sight that can't be missed when visiting the town is Death Valley National park. Pahrump is so close to the park that is often referred to as the gateway to Death Valley, so renting a travel trailer rental from Pahrump is a good way to see all that this incredible landscape has to offer. Despite being primarily a desert landscape, the area is surprisingly diverse, so expect to see salt flats, sand dunes, badlands, mountains, and canyons. Bear in mind, however, that it is the hottest, driest, and lowest of all the parks the US.

If you want a little water in this dry landscape, then you should head to the other side of Las Vegas to Lake Mead National Recreation Area. On Lake Mead, you can take part in a huge range of water-based recreational activities such as fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing before heading back to your camper rental from Pahrump. There are also a number of picnic areas and some paved roads through the dramatic desert scenery. It is here you will also be able to see the world-famous Hoover Dam.

RV parks

If there is one thing that Pahrump is not short of, it is RV parks, so you won't have to travel far to book a camper rental in Pahrump for the night. Although there are many parks in town, a popular option is the Wine Ridge RV Resort, where sites are full hookup and offer 50 amp service. There are some good amenities at this park that you may not get elsewhere, such as a state of the art fitness center and custom billiard table, plus it is located next to the pristine and picturesque vineyards of the Pahrump winery.

Nevada Treasure RV resort often refers to itself as the 'Jewel of the Desert," so you can expect manicured lawns and large, clean RV spaces. Located just outside of town it has beautiful desert valley views, plus on arrival, you will also get a lot attendant who will show you to your site, help you hook up and be available to help you with your daily needs.

If you are looking for something simple, directly in town, then you should look into the Big Five RV resort. Right in the center of town, it may not have the many amenities that some of the other RV resorts in the outskirts of town may have, but it is a safe and clean space to park your RV rental from Pahrump.

Exploring the City

One of the most relaxing ways to spend an afternoon or morning in Pahrump is to visit the Pahrump Valley Winery, which not only offers tours and tastings but is also home to a popular fine dining restaurant. Along with wine in the gift store, you can also pick up a range of clothing and souvenirs. Even the grounds are worth exploring, with lush green palms and a lovely Mediterranean feel.

To learn a little bit more about the town and area, you should consider making a stop at the Pahrump Valley Museum and Historical Society, which is free of charge and highlights the life in the area from prehistoric to pioneer times. What makes the museum even more interesting is the fact that several historic buildings have been moved to the site of the museum and restored, so you'll also have a chance to walk around these and the grounds that are kept by the Pahrump Garden Club.

Sitting so close to Las Vegas, it is hardly surprising that Pahrump is also home to its fair share of casinos. The Nugget is one of the most well-known and famous, and as well as the usual casino games it also has a bowling alley and free childcare. There are three bars and three restaurants in the casino, with live entertainment on Friday or Saturday; therefore this outing could make for a good evening even if you don't want to try your hand at gambling. Plus parking your luxury motorhome rental from Pahrump in the parking lot is convenient.
