Perfect rig for the trip to Anchorage and back to Fairbanks. Nice touch to have stiffer suspension for the rougher Alaska Highways. The sleeping bags were dry and clean. The folding chairs cam in handy. The 12V cooler worked very well. I will rent from these folks again. Very trustworthy and flexible.

I know those roads are harsh on vehicles and you could tell Steph was all about her rig however we definitely noticed some suspension worries when driving up there. Which I’m sure they will get sorted out. There was everything we needed not always as we expected it. Fold up forks and spoons for example. Haha. They packed us a spare tire. The tent is chilly even in august for us marylanders and even with the heavy winter sleeping bags we found outsells in layers both nights. The tent might sleep 3 but I’m not sure where a third person and their gear would have gone for travel.

We had an absolute blast exploring Alaska in the Subaru! They had all the gear we needed. Can’t wait to use them again the next time!

*Subaru master technician and enthusiast* honest review.
From the onset of booking, everything was waaaay too easy. Mike made it super simple for pick up and explanations of tent and car. After discussing some details to note, we were off on our adventure through Denali, Hatcher pass, Seward, Wrangell St Elias.
From the moment we stepped into the car, it felt like home. The upgrades in suspension made it an easy trip on unimproved roads. Mike takes especially good care of his vehicles. This tech can tell when these cars are nurtured. This car is a superior vehicle for overlanding adventure. Full size spare (although, it was never needed) was just simply having piece of mind in case of a blow out. You can’t beat the modifications he made to make traveling easier.
All the camping equipment was so useful. We could still fit 3 suitcases in the car with 2 people. Great idea to include to mini fridge so no cooler is needed. Tent was way more comfortable than ground sleeping. Even in the rain.
This car made our trip. The owners made our day by making it easy. We will always be thankful for our “SubaMoose” for taking care of us on our trip of a lifetime.
