We rented the Westfalia for a full week in Vancouver and towns around.
Easy booking.
Good descriptions on the West’s page.
Really welcoming host when we got at his place to get the west. Instructions given by the host really clear and he made sure to be available for us at anytime.
Despite the age of the car, we didnt have any mechanical problems.
Good old car to ride and bring you to wherever you wanna go for a trip.
We give a 5stars rating because the westfalia met our expectations. If you want an old school trip, thats what you’ll get. What a Nice experience we had. Thank you Greg.

My wife and I decided to rent a Westfalia van to help us decide if we like camping with this type of vehicle. We planned our trip with friends who have their own VW van and we had made extensive campground and ferry reservations for a trip to Vancouver Island.I asked the owner to tell me early the next day if his van would be workable because if not we would make other plans and cancel the Outdoorsy reservation. However, I didn’t hear from him until 2:12 pm that day, but was told that the Blue Westy was ready, so we left late on our trip with the rental VW. The next morning the van had trouble starting, there was lack of power going up hills, and the odometer and horn were not working. The power problems worsened the next day and by then it was backfiring and had become dangerous to drive through intersections and in towns due to lack of power. So on day two of our trip, we were left with a barely functioning and unsafe vehicle!Unfortunately, none of the solutions offered by the VW owner or Outdoorsy was practical and they did not offer us a replacement vehicle, so we terminated the contract and the vehicle had to be abandoned at a local garage. Because no local rental vehicles were available our only option was for our friends to pack us, our dog and our gear into their VW. We then had to go to Canadian Tire to buy a tent, sleeping bags and mats (which we already have at home) and arrange a one-way UHaul rental, at our expense, so that we could get home at the end of our trip. Had we not been with friends who could fit us in, our vacation would have been over on day two.

Greg’s answer

It was unfortunate that Gordon had problems on his trip as customer service is always our number one priority.
There was a problem with the van that we thought we had corrected and were in constant communication with Gordon about. Unfortunately, any problems that Gordon had while on trip he never communicated until his third day some time in the afternoon. Once he finally did, we were on site in about 3 hours and had the camper at a garage and repaired before 8pm that night. It was a minor fault in the ignition coil and not a complete engine failure as suggested. However, Gordon decided to cancel his trip before we could actually offer him anything, such as a hotel for the night, and then started seeking compensation.
Our vehicles are always kept in the best condition possible and we use top notch mechanics. However, we cannot control or foresee everything but only try our best to look after our customers, which I feel we did.

We had an amazing trip on the island for our pre wedding honeymoon.
Greg has thought of everything when it comes to vanagon living. The car drives great and we had incredible sleeps waking up in nature!
He has supplied us with the essentials to cook, clean and maintain the van to have a comfortable living space.. you are able to connect to water at camp sites as well as electricity if you need it!
Thank you Greg, it was an absolute pleasure to travel in a well looked after vanagon!

We had the best time! The van was super clean and comfortable. Greg was very responsive and super duper great to deal with. Our trip to Tofino was a dream and we were able to stay warm and dry the whole time. Would highly recommend! Thank you Greg!

Our time in Westy was amazing! Van is more than you can ask for. The owner provides pillows, sheets, cooking utensils and dishes and the van itself has a fridge and water tank. Worked great and was an awesome experience.
