The Cosy Camper is a pet friendly, luxury VW Campervan. It is an amazing way to explore the Lake District and other amazing places around Britain. Travel as far as you like with unlimited miles. Enjoy the camping lifestyle without having to sacrifice your comfort. The camper is like-new after being converted in 2020, sleeping 4 and transporting 5. You may "free camp" using the vehicles leisure battery, so you can have power, heating, water and gas absolutely anywhere. From luxurious leather seats and stylish black alloys, to cooling fan and toasty warm heating; The Cosy Camper has everything you will need for your adventure. Allowing you, your family and friends (and furry ones) to travel in both style and comfort. The pop-top roof not only provides space for two people to sleep but also provides headroom while in the camper, cooking and moving around. An awning is attached to the side which can be easily set up in less than a minute. Giving you a great bit of sheltered outdoor space from the rain or sun, accompanied by outdoor chairs and a table. The seating arrangements are three seats in the cabin and two seats in the rear. The two front passenger seats swivel to seat people opposite, across the table in the rear.Notable features and items:
- Sleeps four people and transports five
- Pop-top roof for headspace or roof bed
- Double bed
- Heater & Fan
- Fridge with freezer compartment
- Two burner gas stove and gas oven
- Sink with running water
- Cooking utensils, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery
- Plug sockets, usb points, cigarette power point
- Electricity hook up
- Awning with outdoor table and chairs
- Front two swivel seats
- Bring your furry friends for free
What's includedThe Kitchen area:
The camper is well kitted out with all cooking equipment and utensils necessary to enjoy tasty meals parked anywhere you are. Crockery, cutlery, glasses and mugs are all provided. As well as the two burner gas stove there is a gas oven, making cooking meals a great deal easier. There is a sink with running water from the built-in water tank. Meaning you don't need to be hooked up to a water supply, so you can stop for that quick cup of tea during your journey or wash the dishes when not staying on a campsite. There is a fridge with freezer compartment, pretty compact but plenty of room for a few days worth of food and drink. The fridge can be powered by the leisure battery so still keeps things cool and frozen while travelling or free camping and not hooked up to an electricity supply (so don't worry that wine and those beers will be chilled ready for when you arrive at your destination!) A folding table clips on to the worktop with seating for 4 guests to sit opposite each other, using the front two swivel seats providing more seating in the back.
The Sleeping areas:
The main sleeping area is in the main space in the camper. The rear two seats quickly and easily convert into a double bed. The other sleeping area is in the pop-top roof which lifts by hydraulic rods and is around the size of a double bed. Both beds are supplied with self inflatable mattress'. Bed linen or pillows are not supplied so guests are advised to bring their own sleeping bags and duvets. The maximum amount of guests that can sleep is four (even though you can transport five). We do recommend that the four is made up with a maximum of three adults or two adults and two children. This is not only because of the size of the sleeping areas but also because of the size of the living space, it could become quite tight. There is no rule prohibiting four adults, this is down to your judgement and is your decision. One alternative is to bring a tent and create the extra sleeping space for guests. A fifth guest is charged at £10 per night - please contact us to make this addition prior to collection.
The Cabin:
Three people are able to sit in the cabin - the driver and two passengers. The two passenger seats swivel to face the opposite direction for when sitting in the back. It is a high spec cabin with air conditioning, heating, bluetooth phone connectivity, digital radio, CD player, operational buttons on the steering wheel for music and hands free, cruise control, a usb charging point, a cigarette lighter charging point, a heated windscreen and heated wing mirrors. A glove compartment and compartment under the two passengers seats providing good storage space. An adjustable armrest helps make those longer journeys that extra bit comfier. There is a phone holder on the driver-side of the windscreen so drivers can follow directions easily using hands free.
Electricity, heating and control boards:
The camper is fitted with a high end diesel heater to make sure you're nice and warm on those colder nights. The heater runs very efficiently off the diesel tank and the leisure battery so that you can use it wherever you are. As well as the heater is a fan which will draw air through the inlet and circulate in the camper to keep it cooler on the hot summer days and nights. There are six plug sockets, four usb points and a cigarette lighter charger. The campervan has two batteries - the leisure battery and the vehicle battery. There is a control board where these batteries can be switched between to choose which battery you would like to draw power from, showing green, amber and red for the level of power remaining. The leisure battery from full will last one night without being hooked up to a power supply. While driving the leisure battery will be charged so you can recharge while travelling and never be without power. Unfortunately the plug sockets don't work without being connected to a power supply so we recommend having cables that connect to the usb or cigarette points for anything that needs powered while free camping - like phone chargers. Once hooked up to an electricity supply on a campsite you can enjoy the full experience and gain the use of these plug sockets. Other than the plug sockets everything works the same on the leisure battery.

RecommendationsWe would recommend visiting The Lake District which is my favourite place to take the camper. In my opinion it is a perfect size to tour "The Lakes" as larger motorhomes can be too big to get around some of the amazing places with the smaller country roads. But at the same time giving plenty of space to have a comfortable adventure. There are countless campsites and places to visit - with most being pet friendly. My two favourite places to visit in The Lake District are Keswick and Windermere. Keswick only being 25 minutes away from the collection point and Windermere only 40 minutes away.Other things to noteThe camper can be driven anywhere in mainland Britain. If you plan to take it to any surrounding islands this must be requested prior to hire and must be confirmed. All festivals and events are strictly prohibited.Guests must be aged between 25-79 with a full UK licence and at least 2 years driving experience. No smoking in the vehicle.

Meet your host, Jonny

Member since 2021

I have experience hosting holiday cottages on other platforms and I began listing my new VW campervan 'The Cosy Camper' in January 2022. I live in Penrith and have grown up here, so I know the Lake District and the area extremely well. I have enjoyed travelling around the Lake District in my camper and also recently enjoyed a trip to Glencoe in Scotland too. I have always loved camping (mainly in tents) but staying in a campervan has way more pros and way less cons! I now have a dog named Murphy who loves coming away on adventures with me.
