About this RV

The truck is a modified 2017 Ram 2500 4x4 Crew Cab with and 2019 AT Overland Summit camper top. Plentiful power is provided by a Cummins 6.7 turbo diesel and an automatic transmission. The Crew Cab configuration is ideal for 4 people to travel in comfort however the Summit camper top on the truck is better suited for 2 persons. If a party of 4 needs to be accommodated, an optional ground high quality ground tent is available. The truck was built by AT Overland (ATOverland.com) and has a 3" AEV suspension specifically tuned for the camper top and rides on 37” tires. It is equipped with rear camera, GPS, winch, off road lights, compressor, Maxtrax, limited slip rear differential and 2 fuel tanks. Average 15-18 MPG depending upon terrain and driving habits. The topper is a Summit aluminum camper top made by AT Overland and designed to be really light weight, simple, rugged with very high quality materials and craftsmanship throughout. Together, the truck and top make an amazing adventure-mobile for discovering the Southwest.

This truck can go anywhere a car can go and then some. Our truck is easy to drive. You will get used to it in minutes. Parking is not difficult with the rear view camera. Even though this is a full size truck, it is only 3 feet longer and 6 inches wider than a Toyota Tacoma. For camping, it has everything that you would need - a very comfortable bed with fresh linens in a RV Superbag sleep system, 2 camp chairs, 2 towels, cooking utensils, cold water tank (10 gallons – 40 liters), stove (butane), Tembo Tusk Skottle for outside cooking, Nemo Helio shower, Wrappon waterless toilet system, interior and exterior lighting, 270 degree awning, Espar diesel heater for comfort in below freezing temperatures, etc. Electrical power comes from an on-board battery that charges when you drive and a solar panel when you’re parked. USB and 12 volt power ports are conveniently located for charging your mobile devices. The opening double pane skylight and the side window with bug screens provide good cross ventilation when it gets hot and a provide a view of the nighttime sky from your bed. The 50 liter National Luna Refrigerator/freezer keeps your food fresh and ice cream ready for dessert. The butane stove can be used for preparing your meals either inside or outside the camper top. This camper system is quick to deploy and easy to use. It is very low profile while driving (saves fuel and is robust) and the roof pops up within seconds with help from gas strut assists. Just add your duffel bag of clothing, food and beverages and you’re good to go!

Our pick up location is in Prescott, AZ. Parking is available here if you are coming in your own vehicle to pick up.

While our truck camper is very capable of going off-road in difficult terrain, it takes extensive skills to do so and we prefer that it should not be driven on anything more than Forest Service and BLM roads. Our rules for off-pavement travel are simple: If the terrain is extreme and a stock 4x4 cannot easily navigate it, you cannot go on it. Don't worry, there are 1000's of miles of Forest Service and BLM roads in the Southwest where you can enjoy secluded camping and immense vistas all to yourselves. Not sure where to go? We have maps, suggestions and GPS to help you get there :-) The only exception to the above rule is if you have previously demonstrated your proficiency to me. Other than that, we would love nothing more than you enjoying our adventuremobile when we are not. Please add your email address and contact number when contacting me for dates. No smokers or pets are allowed in the truck or camper. That means no smoking outside the vehicle either. It will cost your security deposit.

Best rental experience ever. Truck was clean, and ready to go with everything needed to camp in remote areas away from all the crowds. The owners are wonderful hosts and really made our short vacation magical.
