About this RV

In the process of getting this rig all fixed up and kitted out.

It’s listed at a reduced rate to reflect the fact that I haven’t finished going through and fixing all the odds and ends.

It will still be perfect for 2-4 people on a tour of California and beyond. If this looks interesting to you, just shoot me a note. I’d love to hear what would be a good trip for you and what activities you are most interested in.

Pick up: Use “Alta Plaza Park” when doing general trip planning for the pick up/drop-of location.

Precise location provided upon booking. Recommend taking a LIFT or UBER from SFO or OAK.

SFO - SF Uber = $35-$45

OAK - SF Uber = $45-$70

For local folks leaving your personal vehicle, I would check out the Japan Center and Japan Town garages near Fillmore and Post St.

Interior Equipment:

110v Inverter - to power your devices

Electric cooler.

2-burner propane stove.

Interior sink.

2x adjustable dining tables

2x full-swiveling front captain seats.

2-person rear bench.

Lower Bed: Rear bench unfolds into a 74"x 42" bed.

Upper Bed: Roof Pops up to provide a 74"x42" loft bed.

Check out the Add-Ons for items I can include:

Foam surfboard

Inflatable SUP

Sleeping

It has two beds an upper and a lower. Both bed sizes are 42"x75". This is fine if you sleep like an Egyptian mummy or, if you have kids, we suggest one adult one kid to a bed.

The Vehicle:

2.8 liter 6-cylinder VR6 engine

Front-wheel drive.

4-speed automatic transmission

18 mpg highway, 14 city

What’s included?

Weber Q1200!! Portable outdoor grill!

4x kitchen set

2x mattress protectors

2x memory foam pillows (bring two more for 4ppl)

Tool Kit

Misc camping gear

Recommendations

Take it on a surfing trip, explore hot springs, stop in Napa, or simply grab take out and eat at the side of a quiet mountain road and enjoy the view and tranquility.

Some examples (reasons why we bought it) below:

Romantic trip to visit infamous or hidden wineries

Mountain biking expedition; have you checked out Downieville?

Tour of California’s hot springs.

And of course Redwoods and Yosemite.

Other things to note

It’s not new, it’s had a few owners and a few tasteful and suspect mods along the way.

It's regularly serviced and maintained. I've chosen the best mechanic in San Francisco to do repairs and my philosophy is I'd rather pay the premium now than be stranded later. BUT It's 27 years old so please understand that hiccups may and do happen.

It's good if you are somewhat mechanically inclined and being willing to figure out problems if and when they arise.

Cruise control currently doesn’t work - I personally have found it ok without cruise control and would stress that the pedal is well weighted and doesn’t get tiring.

Cabin heat doesn’t work - heat from the engine/dash has been removed and is rarely needed.

Nick was a great guy, super accommodating and made our rental easy and comfortable. With everything you need for camping, cooking and cleaning and room for 4 to sleep all in a manageable size, Nicks van was a perfect match for our family trip to Mendocino. We had an amazing trip sleeping in beachside campsites and would rent it again in a heartbeat.
