Rules, to be sure everyone is on the same page:

We will give you an explanation of how to use the van and its features. Please plan for an hour for this although it might be shorter. |The van has one or more GPS devices that record and transmit its path, SPEED, and current position. You agree that this is acceptable and can be used to document disallowed uses and excessive speed. |We define "off-road" as terrain that is more likely to damage the van than well maintained paved roads. "Off-road" driving is not permitted. If you take the van "off-road" you understand and agree that insurance may not cover damages resulting from these actions and you will be personally liable for damages to the vehicle, towing charges, as well as all other costs which may result from "off-road" use. We understand that some campsites are served by short dirt roads, these are probably safe. Use your best judgment and careful driving because you are financially responsible if damage occurs. |No more than two human occupants may ride in the van. |Dogs are allowed only per advance written agreement, there is a $50 flat fee for an approved dog & a $250 flat-fee if evidence of an unapproved dog is found. | You may return the van with a full tank of diesel fuel or let us do it for a $15 service fee plus the cost of the fuel. | This van uses diesel fuel only. Diesel is always dispensed from a GREEN fuel pump handle. Putting gasoline in it will ruin your vacation in the following ways in this order: 1)expensive engine damage will occur 2)the engine will stop running and the van will stop 3)you will be liable for the resulting towing, repair, and associated costs; think in the $5,000 range, but not limited to that figure. It will be obvious to any mechanic what caused the damage. So, if by some horrible accidental lapse of attention you do put gasoline in the van: 1)Do not start the engine! 2)If it's running already, stop it 3)Contact the owner/Outdoorsy support and start exploring options to have the fuel tank and fuel system purged to minimize costs and inconvenience. | No travel outside of the United States is permitted. |No roof access is permitted. |Parking your own vehicle is your responsibility. If the owner offers that you park on his/her property you agree that you accept all liability for damage that may result while parked there even though it is on the owner's property. | If you want to increase the length of your trip please contact the owner as soon as your plans change so we can best coordinate schedules. |Late meeting fee is a minimum of $30 for 30 minutes past the agreed time and dollar per minute thereafter. If late meeting delays another renter's pick-up another fee of a dollar per minute shall be due and paid to the other renter. For further details, see Outdoorsy "Late Fees". | Pickup and dropoff are to occur during daylight hours unless otherwise agreed. Non-daylight hours pickup/dropoff arrangements incur additional fees specified by the owner.| Nothing that leaves a lasting odor in the van is permitted. Tobacco smoking/vaping is not permitted in or near the van. Chemical air fresheners are not permitted in the van. If the van smells of tobacco smoke or chemical air freshener an additional cleaning fee of $500 shall be due. |Citations & Tolls: If the owner is notified by authorities that he/she may be responsible for payment of a citation, a $50 processing fee will be charged plus any cost the owner might have to pay. Citations could include but are not limited to: parking, traffic, tolls, towing, or trespassing. |SF Bay Area Bridges have an automated toll system called "FasTrak". The van is registered with FasTrak so you YES YOU CAN USE THE FASTRAK lane, don't wait in the long line! :) Such toll fees will be passed onto you without an additional fee. |You agree that the owner accepts no liability for accidents, damage, or any other cost associated with your failure to follow the above-stated rules. |Acceptance of a van rental signifies your agreement with these and the Outdoorsy terms.
