The truck is a top of the line 2008 Nissan Titan Pro-4X with power everything, heated seats, nice stereo, powerful V8 motor. The truck suspension nicely matched to the camper. The rear seating is comfortable for 2 adults and doable for 2 adults and a kid for a total of 4-5 people to travel in comfort.
The camper is a 2013 FourWheel Camper (fourwh.com). Designed to be really light weight, simple and rugged with very high quality materials and craftsmanship through out.
Together, the truck and camper are an awesome combo. The truck has way more than ample power on the roads, with a well matched suspension. The whole package can go anywhere a car can go, so parking in a city like San Francisco is not difficult at all - especially with the rear view camera and sonar beeper. And for camping, it has everything that you need - very comfortable and warm sleeping, great vents all around, running water, stove, outside shower, etc. Power comes from onboard batteries that charge when you drive. Inside, easy sleeping for 3. Four people is doable, though a bit cozy. Propane heater keeps you cozy at night. 2 vents with a fan if it gets too hot. Ice box to keep things cool (no fridge, sorry).
We chose this model of camper especially because of the pop-up roof - it is very low profile while driving (saves gas, looks nice, very light) and the roof pops up with in seconds with hydraulic lifts inside. Lawn chairs, fresh linens, towels, cooking utensils are provided.
Our truck camper is super easy to drive- just like a car and parks just like a car. You will get used to it in minutes. We installed a rear view camera that fits in the place of the review mirror so you have full video of what's behind you. Helps immensely with parking in city.
The best places to go are right outside San Francisco. Our home is just 15 minutes from SFO airport. Easy parking around here if you are coming in your own vehicle to pick up.
While our truck camper is very capable of going off road (it is a 4x4), we prefer that it should not be driven on anything more than mild gravel road, if that. A simple rule of thumb before you go off the paved road is: 1) No 4x4 engagement 2) If a sedan car cannot go on it, you cannot go on it.
Other than that caveat above, we would love nothing more than you using our truck camper when we are not.

No smokers or pets in the truck or camper please. It will cost your security deposit. I expressly forbid renting my camper to go to festivals, off-road venues etc. It will cost you the entire deposit.
