Low mileage, well taken care of, fully loaded Diesel 4x4 2017 Mercedes Sprinter "TheRover or Rover" that had a complete build out done by the industry leader Sportsmobile. Rover can sleep 4 with the pop top Penthouse (2 up top and 2 on the convertible bed below) but 4 adults would be tight so better as 2 adults and 2 kids. Has all the amenities you need for on or off-road "glamping" exploration complete with Ralph Lauren Down pillows, cotton sheets, down comforter with duvet as a treat after a long day out exploring. It also includes an air compressor, upgraded sound system with seperate power switch, and two panel solar system to keep your batteries topped off for the ultimate in boondocking.Enjoy all that the Rover has to offer with its mini fridge, microwave, central air heater system, hot water, and coffee maker and grinder. Rental also includes 2 camp chairs, 2 tables, hammock, awning, and ground tarp along with 2 burner coleman stove & full cookware. It has ultra powerful off road light bars but not a high clearance 4WD vehicle that should be taken on 4WD trails designed for Jeeps and other off road vehicles. We can answer questions on any planning considerations as we are a tandem of a professional landscape photographer and travel writer so we have been around! Our sprinter van is cleaned between rentals to the strictest of Covid CDC guidelines to insure you and family's safety and we are both vaccinated.Pets welcome. But no smoking in the rig for you or your furry friend. Please message if you see a date blocked out as sometimes we can arrange for pickup or dropoff before or after those dates. There are 5 seatbelts in Rover so bring the entire family. The entire van has loads of safety features from blind spot detection, collision avoidance, and airbags.
What's includedWhat’s included?
• Freshly washed bedding including blankets and down comforter with duvet.
• Kitchen amenities including towels, washcloths, and tablecloth.
• 2 sets of glassware for champagne, beer glasses, and wine glasses.
• 2 down pillows and pillowcases (If you need more just ask)
• Towels for shower / beach towels
• 14 gallons of fresh water
• Pots, pans, 2 burner propane stove and fuel.
• Full kitchen setup with 4 sets of silverware, plates. Includes things like spatulas, knives, cutting boards, measuring cups, citrus squeezer, mixing bowls, Tupperware, kitchen tongs, etc.
• Stocked with cleaning essentials including bug spray, disinfectant spray, dish soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• 2 camp chairs, 2 camp tables along with camp box that includes hatchet and saw for fire making.
• Ground tarp specially designed to let sand and debris through the top but not the bottom.
• Full blind system for total privacy including drapes that snap across the front windows when parked. For longer rentals (1 week or longer) we have a rocket box that can be put on top for you along with a hitch mounted bike rack and lock for 4 bikes. These are free for the 1 week or longer rentals and can be rented for a fee for the shorter trips. RecommendationsRover has been all over the Western US and Canada. Check out https://www.paradoxtravels.com/camper-van-road-trip for some of our roadtrips. This rig is also great for trips to the national parks of California and is great for driving Highway 1. Key to note that it fits into a regular parking space and is as easy to drive as a surburban or full size truck.
Other things to noteYou can take Rover off road (Unlike most rentals) onto Forest Service Roads, BLM access roads, but special care needs to be shown to avoid more extreme 4WD roads or anything that is considered OHV or High Clearance 4WD If you want to do that kind of 4WD we can rent you our Jeep. You will find the vehicle has everything you need for longer duration trips or quick getaways. We charge a pet fee of $50 but this includes poop bags, dog bowls, and some other things plus a more throughout cleaning after its returned. If you use the porta pottie, please dump it (Can go into any toilet) or you will have to pay a $75 fee.We offer free parking in the safety in front of our house for your rig while you use Rover. If you fly into San Luis Obispo we can pick you up at the airport and drop you off at the end of the trip most likely. 3 night minimum currently with 10% discount for 7 day and 20% for monthly rentals. The 125 miles per day is an average. What we have found is most trips you will burn a-lot of miles getting to where you want to go, but few after. This seems to work for most people. There is a $1,000 security deposit and we kindly ask that you have seen 30 trips around the sun before renting with us (Minimum age for rental is 30). We will also run an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) on your driver's license, so if you have a recent DUI or reckless driving we reserve the right to not rent to you.

We love taking the Rover off the grid and exploring remote back roads and quiet places. Nothing like a good nap or a warm bed to come back to after a long day out exploring. Favorite trips so far are the Canadian Rockies but we love exploring the US Parks. We have all sorts of itineraries we can share with you.

We had a great trip with this van and would highly recommend for anyone considering renting it. We took a 10 day road trip all over CA and this vehicle performed beautifully.
Jen & Nic’s answer
Hey Ryan! You guys were great. Thanks for taking such great care of Rover and being so easy to work with!

I cannot say enough regarding how helpful and informative Jen And Nic were throughout this whole process. Having no experience with camper vans or RVs, everything was broken down into plain English so a novice like me could understand. Jen and Nic also made themselves available 24/7 throughout the entire trip which was reassuring.

Wonderful from beginning to end! Nic recommended a campsite which made for great photo opportunities, Jen shared a coffee shop rec (that was awesome) and both were helpful the whole way through -- from flexibility on pick up and return to a clear in-person intro on how to use all the features of the Rover.

We enjoyed our weekend in this van. The pop top gave us more space for my 6'4" tall husband, and also gave us some light and air when we had the lower windows covered for privacy. It would be perfect to put a kid up there for a family outing.
Nick and Jen had it set up with linens (including dish towels and such) plates, utensils, coffee cups and wine glasses. With that and the fridge, microwave and coffee maker, we were all set--great since we were 30 miles from the nearest town. Would definitely rent this again!

We loved our time with this van. The communication was timely and super helpful. The van was spotless, the bedding comfortable and it has everything you need for a wonderful glamming experience. We will be renting again!

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
We both work from home so it can be picked up almost anytime. As mentioned if you fly into San Luis Obispo we can pick you up or if you drive here, we are happy to let you leave your car in front of our home.
Q.Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
Yes! We give you a very detailed reference manual for how to operate the RV complete with pictures and step by step instructions.
Q.How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
Most of the time with the 2 solar panels and the batteries means you won't need to hookup to power. It does not have a direct sewer hookup. No need to be held back by having to connect to utilities.
