Renters BEWARE, in our opinion, NEVER rent from this owner. One week prior to leaving on our trip, we asked the owner to provide expectations for cleaning the RV before returning it; to which he replied, “There aren't any special cleaning instructions. I take care of everything upon your arrival and will wash all the sheets and towels and restock anything that is used. Your job is to simply enjoy the camper!"Upon taking possession of the RV I entered the vehicle with a bag of trash bags to remove all bedding pillows etc. belonging to Mr Cobb since I could see everything was filthy. It was then a cockroach landed in my hair. I was So disgusted and distraught I would have cancelled the entire trip. Based on the owner’s reservation policy, we would have lost not only $1,000 for the vehicle reservation, but also All of the RV campground sites we had reserved and pre-paid for stops along our planned trip. The following is just a bullet list of FILTHY DIRTY RV issues (pictures with captions also provided at end of email):- Bathroom shower had pubic hair and grimy film stench (even though we tried to clean we would NEVER USE it).- Bathroom garbage filled with personal refuse- Mattress bedding filled with sand dirt bugs/food? Picture shown before bedding placed in garbage bag- Outdoor filth above both slides gave me the hebee-jeebees (that's above our heads where we would sleep -YUCK)- Propane stove top was extremely greasy and contained old food- Microwave also FILTHY GRITTY food and even plastic food cover disgusting- Refrigerator& Freezer moldy grimy all compartments and shelves we're brought to house sink (as well as microwave cover turntable glass and rollers) to be cleaned and bleached- The big drawer under the stove contained filthy dishes and all drawers had dirty grimy flatware, potholder, and plastic cooking utensils. In addition, the top drawers that contained cookware, plastic glasses and a small coffee pot was FILTHY with insect or food grime (there's a picture of the shelves - disgusting)- The fan above the propane cook top was dripping with greasy filth (picture)- The portable BBQ was a grease trap left open in the storage area and was filled over and sloppy, making just another mess to be cleaned. Which made valuable storage UNUSABLE.- The folding outdoor table was also greasy filthy and unusable- The water hose for the main RV water had a huge leak. (We had to purchase a new one to use.)- In between the fold out seat that was the slide out for lounging to watch TV or additional sleeping area contained extensive dirt and grime in between the seats and underneath had board game pieces, an inch if dirty filth half eaten Tootsie Pops other assorted garbage. I lost a pair of earrings NEVER TO BE RECOVERED. (Pictures)- All tables countertops seats bath shower and sinks had to be disinfected and wiped with Clorox wipes prior to trip- Floor had to be vacuumed and mopped prior to trip (& we did it after the trip as well). The simple FACT is the vehicle should never have been rented in such an unlivable pig-sty state. It is disrespectful to burden anyone with such filth. Especially since we inquired about cleanliness a week prior to the trip and Mr. Cobb replied "There aren't any special cleaning instructions. I take care of everything upon your arrival and will wash all the sheets and towels and restock anything that is used. Your job is to simply enjoy the camper! "In addition, Outdoorsy should VET all owners using the site to rent recreational vehicles and prevent any type of future occurrence. One idea is to allow potential renters to personally inspect vehicles prior to reserving them for a vacation. The ratings should be negative 5 stars for everything except mechanical (the engine and drivability of the vehicle).Show quoted text
