The Great Outdoors

Dillon campers will have one of South Carolina's best state parks right on their doorstep. Little Pee Dee State Park is located in the Sandhill region of South Carolina and features woodlands and swamps around the 54-acre Lake Norton. Fishing is a popular activity at this state park, and Lake Norton has a 75-foot fishing pier where you can catch catfish, bream, and bass. Other popular activities include kayaking and canoeing. If you want to explore the swamps around the lake, there's a nature trail that leads for over a mile around Beaver Pond.You may want to explore some of the beautiful natural areas South Carolina's coast has to offer. Myrtle Beach State Park is a popular destination, and this park is unique as it features one of the only maritime forests left in the state. The park also features a mile of undeveloped beach, which is perfect for swimming or catching a tan. One of the park's best activities is surf fishing, and anglers regularly reel in drum, king mackerel, and flounder. If you want to see more of the surrounding forest, there's a short multi-use hiking trail that leads through the area.Another state park nearby that offers an excellent relaxing day out is Cheraw State Park. There are over 7,000 acres of pine forest to discover at this park, centered around the serene Lake Juniper. Thanks to cypress trees and wetlands, the park is ideal for kayaking and canoeing, and the park's multiple boardwalks are perfect for fishing. If you want to explore the park's extensive forest, there are over four miles of trails that lead along the boardwalks and through the woodlands. If you love golf, you'll also love this state park, as it contains an 18-hole championship golf course, which provides beautiful views of the surrounding trees and lake.

Exploring the City

When you rent an RV near Dillon, you'll no doubt want to visit the nearby tourist hotspot of Myrtle Beach. This vibrant city is full of fun activities, and one of the best for families is Ripley's Aquarium. This impressive aquarium boasts marine creatures from across the world and has some fascinating animals on display, including nurse sharks, piranhas, and clownfish. As well as having a wide array of sea creatures, the zoo also runs experiences where you can get up close to some of the aquarium's residents. You can pet passing stingrays as they swim by, or if you're feeling brave, swim with sharks.Myrtle Beach has several unique museums, and one of the most interesting is the Hollywood Wax Museum. This museum features hundreds of wax figures depicting everything from famous actors to zombies and vampires. There's a huge variety of stars on display, and there's sure to be something for everyone when you visit.While enjoying your campervan rental near Dillon, you may want to cross over into North Carolina and visit the seaside city of Wilmington. Wilmington has some intriguing historical sights, and one of the most important is the Battleship North Carolina. An active battleship during World War II, this important vessel is now open to the public as a museum, where visitors can see the inner working of the ship, including the engine room, living quarters, and much more. Visitors can book a guided tour of the vessel, which is sure to satisfy any history buff.

What type of RV should I choose?

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
