Former writer with a Twin Cities media company. Now a part-time aviation writer and airplane builder. I bought the camper primarily to use during AirVenture at Oshkosh every summer. Always wanted to have one. Now that I'm retired, I do. For the rest of the year, I figure if someone else can get some pleasure out of it, all the better.

This is the perfect camper for people who like actually camping. Or maybe you're just ready to get up off the ground but don't want to feel like you're in your living room. No satellite dishes, air conditioning, or microwaves for you. Just 360 degrees of nature and, maybe, the smell of bacon in the morning on the camp stove. "It's cute too," as a renter said recently.

This was my first time using a pop-up camper and the experience was fantastic, mostly due to Bob’s great communication, helpful attitude and his detailed instructions and tips on how to set up and take down the camper. I really appreciated Bob’s flexibility with pick up and drop off—you don’t usually get that kind of flexibility with other types of rentals. It was also really helpful to have had the opportunity to get a camper tutorial prior to our trip. Being offered that option was an added bonus.
The camper was in great shape and fit our needs well. I’d rent again from Bob anytime.

Bobs Classic Dutchman was great! Bob took the time to show us how to put it up and had wonderful directions all printed in a book. We had no problem putting it together, and we were first timers with a pop up camper. It was clean and in great shape. It was the perfect place for our extra visiting kids to sleep. I would highly recommend renting from Bob! Great guy. We hope to rent again soon!

Bob was great! Very quick setup and thorough user guide. The camper has everything you need and nothing you don’t. We had a great time with our 3 year old and 9 month old. It was spacious enough to accommodate our pack and play for the baby. Would absolutely recommend Bob and his camper!

Have a question?Get answers directly from the owner

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
I'm retired so there is no firm timetable for pickup or drop off. Since I'm also an usher at Target Field, the only factor is if there's a game on a particular day, I have to be at Target Field by 10 am for day games and 4pm for night games, so we may have to adjust pickup/drop off teams (i.e. pick up the night before, or drop off on a Sunday after 6:30 pm etc). It's all very flexible and informal. This isn't U-Haul.

Q.What if I have to cancel my reservation?
A.
Five days after making a reservation, you can cancel it for a 100% refund not including Outdoorsy’s service fee. After five days, you get a 75% refund but, again, Outdoorsy’s service fee is not refunded. That’s an Outdoorsy thing. I have no control over that. If you have to cancel for a good reason, I will usually send you a discount code for a 25% discount on your rescheduled rental. So, in effect, you would be getting most of the money back you put on deposit for the first rental.

Q.How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
This isn't a big "land yacht." It's just a pop-up camper. So the only trick is getting close enough to the electrical outlet if you have a camping site that provides electricity. I provide a 25 foot extension cord. There is no sewage hookup. The only outflow is from the sink if you choose to use it. A hose goes into a water container. Just bring it back with you and I'll dispose of it. A water tank can be easily filled with a campground water hose.

Q.How does your delivery policy work?
A.
I will bring the camper to a reserved campground spot and set it up. I will return on the last day and take it all down for you. The charged is based one ONE one-way trip from South St. Paul (even them I'm making four of them) with whatever mileage is indicated by Google Maps times the delivery rate. Minimum charge is $60. I will deliver within 50 miles.
