Member since 2019

Former writer with a Twin Cities media company. Now a part-time aviation writer and airplane builder. I bought the camper primarily to use during AirVenture at Oshkosh every summer. Always wanted to have one. Now that I'm retired, I do. For the rest of the year, I figure if someone else can get some pleasure out of it, all the better.

Pop up camper was great to camp in and Bob had very clear instructions on setting up and taking it down which made it easy to do. Made for a geat time on our camping trip.

We had so much fun in Bob’s Dutchman. He was so nice and very helpful in the tutorial for setup. It’s very easy to assemble and take down as long as you follow the instructions—which were very easy to follow and detailed. Can’t wait to rent it again!

The Dutchman was great! We enjoyed a calm peaceful weekend camping. Bob has everything in place for a smooth and easy trip with the camper. Couldn't ask for an easier process.

What a fantastic experience! Bob was helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. The camper was better than advertised. The pick-up and drop-off process works extremely well. We had a great weekend and will definitely use Bob again!

Have a question?Get answers directly from the owner

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
I'm retired so there is no firm timetable for pickup or drop off. Since I'm also an usher at Target Field, the only factor is if there's a game on a particular day, I have to be at Target Field by 10 am for day games and 4pm for night games, so we may have to adjust pickup/drop off teams (i.e. pick up the night before, or drop off on a Sunday after 6:30 pm etc). It's all very flexible and informal. This isn't U-Haul.

Q.How does your delivery policy work?
A.
I will bring the camper to a reserved campground spot and set it up. I will return on the last day and take it all down for you. The charged is based one ONE one-way trip from South St. Paul (even them I'm making four of them) with whatever mileage is indicated by Google Maps times the delivery rate. Minimum charge is $60. I will deliver within 50 miles.

Q.How can I learn more about the camper and what improvements you've made to it?
A.
You can visit the camper blog at https://dutchmencamper.blogspot.com/ . Occasionally I'll put up a post about maintenance items and various puddling around I do on the camper. There's also a preview of setup and takedown instructions.

Q.Does the camper have brakes?
A.
It does not, but it shouldn't be a deal breaker. First, the camper is comparatively light. Second, brakes are particularly important on steep grades, few of which we have in Minnesota. The camper tows easily but you do have to remember when approaching a stop sign, for example, that you are towing something back there.
