Meet your host, Bob

Former writer with a Twin Cities media company. Now a part-time aviation writer and airplane builder. I bought the camper primarily to use during AirVenture at Oshkosh every summer. Always wanted to have one. Now that I'm retired, I do. For the rest of the year, I figure if someone else can get some pleasure out of it, all the better. Thus the low per night rate

Bob was great! Very quick setup and thorough user guide. The camper has everything you need and nothing you don’t. We had a great time with our 3 year old and 9 month old. It was spacious enough to accommodate our pack and play for the baby. Would absolutely recommend Bob and his camper!

I would definitely rent from Bob again. Very easy to work with. Answered all my questions, very responsive. He stayed in communication with me after drop off and pick up. The camper was very clean and comfortable. I had a great experience and it made planning my camping trip way less stressful!

The best part about our experience was the communication with Bob. Bob had to cancel our reservation due to damage from previous renters. We found another camper to rent. Unfortunately, our communications with the new camper owner gave us the impression that this experience would be like flying on Spirit - no flexibility and hidden fees. When Bob was able to fix the camper in time for our trip, we gladly went returned to him. He wants people to enjoy camping, making the experience of renting his camper as convenient and easy as possible. We would highly recommend renting Bob's camper!

Have a question?Get answers directly from the owner

Q. What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A. I'm retired so there is no firm timetable for pickup or drop off. Since I'm also an usher at Target Field, the only factor is if there's a game on a particular day, I have to be at Target Field by 10 am for day games and 4pm for night games, so we may have to adjust pickup/drop off teams (i.e. pick up the night before, or drop off on a Sunday after 6:30 pm etc). It's all very flexible and informal. This isn't U-Haul.

Q. What if I have to cancel my reservation?
A. Five days after making a reservation, you can cancel it for a 100% refund not including Outdoorsy’s service fee. After five days, you get a 75% refund but, again, Outdoorsy’s service fee is not refunded. That’s an Outdoorsy thing. I have no control over that. If you have to cancel for a good reason, I will usually send you a discount code for a 25% discount on your rescheduled rental. So, in effect, you would be getting most of the money back you put on deposit for the first rental.

Q. How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A. This isn't a big "land yacht." It's just a pop-up camper. So the only trick is getting close enough to the electrical outlet if you have a camping site that provides electricity. I provide a 25 foot extension cord. There is no sewage hookup. The only outflow is from the sink if you choose to use it. A hose goes into a water container. Just bring it back with you and I'll dispose of it. A water tank can be easily filled with a campground water hose.

Q. Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A. I provide a step-by-step setup & take down guide with pictures. If you have more than one person camping with you, put one person in charge of reading the instructions step by step, and the other person following directions. The only time I've ever had a problem is when someone didn't think it was necessary to read the instructions, and his kids jumped on the bed before supports were in place. That cost him most of his deposit money for repairs. Don't be like a "guy." Read the instructions.
