We enjoyed our trip in the RV. There were some problems however; not big enough for 4 adults to sleep comfortably, furnace, generator, and battery did not work well for our standards. Ken was super easy to work with and the value was good. Overall we had a good time. Thanks Ken
The RV had a lot of issues. Could not get the generator to charge the battery in order to run the lights, fridge, etc. The water from the fresh tank leaked and so we did not have enough water. The water heater started leaking and we had to fix it. Luckily for us, we had other people in our group...
Kim's response to Christina
May 30, 2019
Dear Christina, I apologize for the experience you and your group had. I am not writing this review to disagree with the above. I concur with your review and I appreciate you taking the time to do it. I am leaving my response for others to see what steps we will take/have taken to avoid similar experiences. This was our first rental experience, and we have learned many lessons. I am deeply sorry to Christina and her group that they had to go through these problems. We will make every effort to make sure no one else will experience any of these problems. 1) I believe many of these problems could have been avoided or at least taken care off quickly had I been in the country during the rental. It was indeed left up to my wife to perform the walk-through, and we have learned that there were parts of the vehicle that she was not familiar with either. We will make sure that future renters will be provided with a rigorous walk-through and demonstrate use of vehicle prior to leave the premise. 2) We had the generator detailed and serviced three days prior to the rental and have never had this issue before. I suspect that during the service, a switch in electrical polarity occurred such that instead of charging the secondary battery it drained it. During the test prior to the rental, the secondary battery would have had a full charge and we did not see this error. This will be fixed as soon as I return. 3) I am not aware of the tank leaking prior to the rental or after. However, the fresh water (and hot water) valves are both left open when the vehicle is not in use. I am not sure if this was the issue, which should have been covered during the walk-through but my wife was unaware of it. 4) The refrigerator runs on gas through the secondary battery (which was drained at this point). It can be switched to gas through other means, but I am not sure the renter received my instructions in a timely manner. 5) The vehicle sleeps 7 as stated. I should make clear that it sleeps a family of 7. It would be better to say that it sleeps 5 adults and 2 children comfortably. I will change that in the description. I will also note, that if a person is taller than 6 ft, then I don't think many campers will fit them comfortably. 6) The vehicle is large and will take a little time to get up to speed, however, traveling at 70-75 mph on highway is easy with this vehicle. Uphill the vehicle will slow down for sure. 7) Regarding the tires: this is extremely unfortunate and upsets me. First of all, it is a safety issue! Second, the vehicle went through a safety inspection the week prior to the rental, where a valve stem was replaced and all tires were inspected (supposedly). The inspection report was delivered with the vehicle (in the glove compartment). Obviously, I need to make sure that these tires are in great condition and not just rely on the report. I will not use that service again. 8) The renters have signed up for roadside assistance as part of the rental and there were no need for them to wait this long if they had called the roadside assistance right away. I understand that, I could have prevented this by including it as part of the walk-through. Lesson learned. 9) The vehicle does have stabilizing levelers, but it was not pointed out during the walk-through and I was not aware that they did not know of it until this review. 10) The rental fee is released to me within 3 days of return of the vehicle. As of now it has been two days. As soon as it is released, I will provide the full rental fee back to the renter. Again, it was our first rental experience, and we have learned many lessons. I am deeply sorry to Christina and her group that they had to go through these problems. We will make every effort to make sure no one else will experience any of these problems.
