These calm, clear waters are ideal for swimming, and there's a swimming cove with a beach if you're looking to relax. Fishing and boating are also favorite activities, and there's a fishing pier with a boat launch for access to deeper waters. Around the lake is roughly four miles of hiking trails, which lead past an array of vivid wildflowers and ancient fossils. Birdwatchers will love this park as many rare species frequent the area, including bald eagles, ruby-throated hummingbirds, and osprey.Another popular lakeside park worth visiting is Bonham State Park. This much smaller park consists of woodlands around Bonham Lake, a reservoir constructed in the 1930s. This park is perfect for a secluded getaway, and this serene lake is great for watersports, including swimming and fishing. Small watercraft are also welcome, and you can rent kayaks and canoes from the park's office. If you'd prefer to stay dry, there are roughly seven miles of trails to stroll down, including a lake loop, which is ideal for a tranquil afternoon walk.Prefer to stay close to your campsite at Lazy L RV Park? Plan a visit to Herman Baker Park. This 83-acre park is situated just outside Sherman and features grasslands and woodlands encircling the 34-acre Pickens Lake. There are a few short nature trails, including a trail that loops around the lake. Although small, the lake is also suitable for watersports like fishing and paddling. If you'd rather relax, there are many picnic tables where you can enjoy a lakeside lunch. During the winter, the park is a popular spot for sledding.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
