On the outskirts of the Houston metro area, near Sugar Land, lies Richmond, Texas. This area is rich in history with names revolving around influential figures who made Texas the great state we know today. When stepping into this part of Texas, a figure you must know is Stephen F. Austin and his influence. In the early 1800s, he was an empresario at the time and started to grow unhappy with the Mexican government. So, he and 300 families relocated to an unknown territory in 1825. Thus, Texas was born. Today, Texas history refers to these brave immigrants as the “Old Three Hundred” and Stephen F. Austin as the “Father of Texas.” Visitors who book an RV in Richmond will find this city a truly diverse place.
