Tropic Island Resort

The Tropic Island Resort is in Port Aransas, TX, which is in the far, southeast portion of the state. It sits on a tiny spit of land that forms a long island, just off the mainland of the Texas coast. In most places, this tiny landmass is only a few miles wide as it separates Corpus Christi Bay, on its west side, from the larger Gulf of Mexico to the east. The nearest larger town is Corpus Christi at less than 40 miles to the east, while the nearest large city is San Antonio, at almost 200 miles to the northwest. The Tropic Island Resort offers access to multiple pools and hot tubs, and also features full-hookup campsites that can accommodate any size RV. WiFi is available for campers, as is a dog park, so you know your four-legged friend is welcome, as well. The resort allows both short and long-term stays, so this is a great place for vacationers and snowbirds alike! With a stay at this family-friendly campground on the Texas coast, you should have no trouble finding any services you may need. There are a few gas stations on the island, and several more can be found on the mainland. You will find several grocery stores along the main route through town. When you find yourself running low on anything, you can refresh your supplies at any of these locations. Camping with an RV near here makes for a perfect base camp to explore all the attractions found nearby.

Questions about RVs?

Q.

What type of RV should I choose?

A.

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
