Exploring the City

Fillmore KOA is just outside of Fillmore, so getting in and out of town is quite easy. The town has lots of history, including several historical landmarks and buildings that you can visit and tour. The Territorial Statehouse State Park Museum is a fascinating place to learn about the state’s history. The building celebrates the fact that Fillmore was the original capital of Utah before it was moved to Salt Lake City. The brick building houses a collection of artifacts, photographs, and exhibits that help paint a picture of early Utah and the pioneers who settled it.Fillmore is also home to Tabernacle Hill, an area packed with natural features. Lava tubes and ancient magma fields are part of the landscape, created by violent volcanic eruptions before recorded history. You can hike through and learn about the different types of geological features, from the caves to the craters.If you want to bathe in luxurious hot springs, Meadow Hot Springs is the place to be. The springs are found on private land, opened to the public so all may enjoy their healing properties. Unlike many of the other hot springs, this one is completely natural.
