Jordan Pines Campground

Jordan Pines Campground is located in scenic Big Cottonwood Canyon at an elevation of 7500 feet. Salt Lake City is conveniently close. Visitors enjoy hiking, biking and fishing.

Facilities

This group campground is a perfect location for family reunions, church outings and company picnics. It offers four overnight campsites and one day-use picnic site, all of which contain picnic tables, campfire rings and grills. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided. A volleyball court and horseshoe pit are available, but campers must bring their own net, ball and horseshoes. Roads and parking spurs are paved. Jordan Pines Campground only accommodates groups and therefore requires a reservation.

Nearby attractions

Big Cottonwood Canyon is a beautiful area known for its soaring peaks, pristine hidden lakes and cascading streams. Numerous hiking and mountain biking trails are in the area. Rock climbing is a popular activity as well. Solitude Mountain Resort is 4 miles up-canyon, offering scenic chairlift rides, hiking, a few dining options and a challenging 18-hole disc golf course. Silver Lake is another mile past Solitude. Fishing and canoeing are popular activities. An easy trail loops around the small lake.

Natural feaures

A forest of shady pines and aspens covers the campground, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Vivid summer wildflowers are abundant and autumn leaves put on quite a show.

Recreation

Hiking and mountain biking are popular activities on area trails, including the Donut Falls Trail, which begins nearby. Fly-fishing is a favorite activity on Big Cottonwood Creek.

Driving directions to Jordan Pines Campground

From I-215, take the 6200 south exit and travel a mile east to Wasatch Blvd. Take Wasatch Blvd a mile south to junction with Big Cottonwood Canyon/Highway 190. Make a left at the junction and travel up Big Cottonwood Canyon 9.2 miles to the campground.

What type of RV should I choose?

Start by determining how many people are planning to travel with you. Going on a solo-journey? Choose a camper van or a teardrop trailer. Bringing the whole family along for the ride? Consider a spacious Class A or five-wheel.

You’ll also want to consider amenities. For example, if you’re planning to cook on the road, you’ll want a kitchenette. If your campground doesn’t have public restrooms, you’ll want to search RVs with bathrooms. Check out full descriptions of our models to help you decide here.

Q.
Do the RVs have bathrooms?

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

Q.
How does check-in work?

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
