The Great Outdoors

This scenic 7,400-acre park features a desert environment, canyons and ridges, and a diversity of plant and animal life including coyotes, leopard lizards, desert tortoises, and Gila monsters. There are over 38 miles of hiking trails and a three-mile paved walking and biking trail. Ranger-led activities include hikes, talks, junior ranger programs, and evening programs. Other recreational opportunities include hiking, climbing, horseback trail rides, wildlife viewing, and nature photography.You can appreciate unspoiled natural beauty when you visit the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area while you camp in an RV near Hurricane. This area covers about 45,000 acres and is part of the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve. It is managed to preserve the threatened Mojave Desert tortoise and other plant and animal species that are at risk. The area includes two wilderness areas, the Red Cliffs Recreation Area, heritage public use sites, and 130 miles of non-motorized multi-use trails.
