Sites and Scenery

It would be hard to find a place more rich in outdoor experiences than the Redmond area. You can take your Redmond rental camper to a wide variety of state and regional parks, and even a few national parks.

A favorite spot in Redmond is Marymoor Park. In addition to hosting concerts and festivals, this 640-acre park is on the north end of Lake Sammamish and is one of King County’s oldest, largest and most popular parks. There are lots of trails to hike or ride a bike, sports fields, a large dog park, and even a rock climbing wall.

Nearby is Bridle Trails State Park, with 28 miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding. Densely wooded trails make it seem like you’re miles and miles away from any big city. No bikes are allowed in this park, due to the high amount of equestrian activity. Pets are welcome, but must stay on a leash. This is a true gem in the middle of a grand metropolitan area.

Lake Sammamish State Park is another popular spot. Hiking, biking, boating, and fishing are all in the cards for you. On the south end of the lake, this is a great place to spend a day or more in your Redmond rental motorhome.

Three world-class national parks are within a day’s drive of Redmond. You must visit Mount Rainier National Park, with Washington’s highest peak, amazing wildflower meadows, and glaciers that feed five major rivers. Mount Rainier itself is an active volcano, located in the Cascade Mountain Range. Make sure to visit Paradise Point for a breathtaking view of the area, including a drive that shows off waterfalls and amazing scenes of nature.

On the other side of Puget Sound, Olympic National Park is a huge, almost one-million-acre wilderness area that feels other wordly. Enjoy dense vegetation of primal, ancient forests and amazing landscapes. You will feel deeply connected with nature here. There are beaches, mountain hiking, rivers and waterfalls to explore at Olympic National Park.

Finally, make a trip in your Redmond rental motorhome to North Cascades National Park. This is another huge wilderness area of mountains, deep forests, glaciers and backpacking trails. Minimally developed, the park can feel wild, rugged and remote, and you’ll find endless miles and gorgeous vistas that are worth the effort.
