Lynx Pass Campground

ABOUT: This campground is located in the Gore Pass area on the Routt National Forest between the towns of Kremmling and Yampa and hosts 11 wooded campsites set among Lodgepole Pine.AMENITIES: Each site has 1 picnic table and a fire grate. There is one vault toilet. There is nearby access to ATV/OHV and mountain bike trails, as well as access to excellent hunting. A short drive will take you to the Sarvis Creek Wilderness.COMMON RECREATION ACTIVITIES IN THIS AREA:ATV/OHV RIDING: Adventure out to the Morrison-Divide Trail #1174 by ATV/OHV for a one-way 13.3 mile trail that begins at Lynx pass and heads north along Green Ridge. The Muddy Slide is an inspiring geological feature near the halfway point of the trail. Riders can return to the trailhead via CR 16 for a 20 mile loop, or return on #1174.MOUNTAIN BIKING: The #1174 trail is 13.3 miles one way or complete the loop with National Forest Service Road 270 for 20 miles. There are 3 other mountain bike trails nearby as well, the Rock Creek Loop, Shoe and Stocking Loop, and Teepee Creek Loop. The Teepee Creek Loop follows NFSR 270 a 1/4 mile south to NFSR 263. Follow NFSR 263 for 1.9 miles to the Teepee Creek Trail and then follow the trail for 1 mile back to NFSR 263. Shoe and Stocking follows NFSR 270 south for 2.5 miles to NFSR 275. Take 275 for 2 miles. Cross Highway 134 and follow the Shoe and Stocking Trail for 3.4 miles. Follow NFSR 225 and 206 for 2.4 miles back to Highway 134. Follow 270 for 2.7 miles back to the starting point. The Rock Creek Loop  follows NFSR 270 for 1/4 mile south to NFSR 263. Follow NFSR 263 for 5.12 miles to NFSR 272. Follow NFSR 272 for 1.5 miles to the Rock Creek Trail. Follow this trail for 4.4 miles. This trail connects with NFSR 268 for 2.1 miles until the Teepee Creek Trail. Follow this single track for 4 miles back to NFSR 263 and the trailhead for a 16.2 mile loop.FIRE RESTRICTIONS: Please check with the Yampa Ranger Station to find out if there are any current fire restrictions.DIRECTIONS: From Yampa, take HWY 131 south 10 miles to Toponas. Veer left to HWY 134 towards Kremmling. Go approximately 9 more miles until you see the sign on your left for Lynx Pass, follow to campground.

From Yampa, go 11 miles south on CO 131, 9 miles east on CO 134 , then 3 miles north on Forest Road 270.

What type of RV should I choose?

Do the RVs have bathrooms?

A.

Yes. Class A’s, Class B’s, and Class C’s and five-Wheels typically have bathrooms. Depending on where you plan on camping, you’ll want to double-check the availability of restrooms if selecting a rig without a bathroom. Nervous about renting an RV with a bathroom? Owners can help show you how to clean the tank or will offer to do it for you for a fee.

How does check-in work?

A.

Once an Owner approves your RV reservation, you can coordinate a time to pick up your rig or have it delivered to your doorstep or campsite. At that point, the owner will do a key exchange with you and walk you through the RV and answer any questions you might have.
