The Great Outdoors

After you book an RV rental in Lawrence, you should start to plan your adventures through the lakes and prairies of Kansas. Lawrence is best-known for its proximity to two major Kansas lakes - Clinton Lake and Perry Lake. Clinton Lake is just outside of the city, and it's surrounded by four different parks managed by the county and the state. Clinton Lake State Park offers over 25 miles of trails, a boat launch, fishing areas, and even disc golf courses just minutes from the city. The other parks - Woodridge, Bloomington, and Rock Haven - also have access to hiking trails and swimming beaches.

Perry Lake is also just a short drive from Lawrence in Ozawkie. Perry Lake State Park offers visitors a wide range of activities to choose from on and off the water. The park's 20 miles of hiking trails run through dense forests and marshlands and along the scenic lakeshore, and on the lake, visitors can fish, boat, swim, and canoe. Additionally, like Clinton, there are a number of outlet parks along the lake's shore that offer a variety of trails through some of the most scenic areas of the lake.

If you'd like a break from the water, make the drive to Manhattan to visit the Konza Prairie Biological Station. This natural preserve features some of the last untouched tallgrass prairies in the nation, and visitors can hike along trails throughout the preserve to observe native wildlife. You can even observe native bison here. When you rent a motorhome in Lawrence, you'll easily be able to explore all of the natural beauty of Kansas.
