Located near Houston, Pasadena is one of the largest cities in Texas. Founded in 1893, it was named by John Burnett after the iconic Californian city of the same name. Before being settled, Pasadena was often visited by Spanish explorers.

Eventually, Pasadena became a popular ranching development until a massive hurricane struck it in 1900. After this, it started to grow strawberry plants as a way to revive the city, something it continues to do to this day. In fact, Pasadena hosts a strawberry festival in the spring which is known for its mouthwatering strawberry shortcake.

The larger city of Houston lies less than 20 miles away to the northwest, and Sugar Land is around 30 miles west.
