Chickasaw National Recreation Area is about 30 miles southwest of Ada, near Sulphur. This is an excellent area for fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, and other activities. The park varies from 800 to 1,200 feet above sea level. The landscape is compromised of sandstone (which is erosion resistant), shale and limestone (these last two being subject to erosion), which is what gives it its hilly terrain. It has numerous large and smaller streams, and several lakes, for visitors to choose from, meaning that guests of this park likely won't have to deal with large crowds of people. Directly south of Ada, Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge is a nature preserve consisting of grasslands, woodlands, and wild plum thickets. One thing that should absolutely not be missed when you rent an RV in Ada is a tour of the Wilson Football Factory. Tours must be arranged in advance and are approximately 75 minutes long and demonstrate the stages involved in crafting a football as the workers go about their jobs. This factory makes 3,000 footballs a day, for the NFL, CFL (Canadian Football League), U.S. colleges and most high schools. At the end of the tour, there are authentic, handcrafted footballs for sale, straight from the factory floor.

If one thing is evident about Ada, it is that this town likes their pizza. There are quite a few pizzerias on hand, all of them very popular; there are also Mediterranean, Mexican and Chinese restaurants for those who would like something different.
