Avondale Estates finds itself in a unique location, in that it is located on the I-285, a highway loop that encircles Atlanta and connects to three other major interstate highways. As a result, it is incredibly accessible from the large cities of Marietta and Athens.

The city was originally owned by one man, George Francis Willis, who bought the land in 1924. Recently inspired by his trip to England, Willis dreamed of building a town that replicated Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of playwright Shakespeare. Now abundant in Tudor style houses and Old English architecture, it seems Willis dream came true.

Many people choose to book an RV in Avondale Estates to learn about the areas interesting history, including its connection with the infamous Waffle House Company. What many don’t realize that is also an area of outstanding natural beauty, abundant with lakes and nature reserves.
