The town of Bellbrook is a relatively small suburb on the southeastern edge of Dayton, Ohio. While there’s not a whole lot to do in Bellbrook itself, it’s a great place to base yourself when exploring southwestern Ohio, as it’s a mere 20 minutes from Dayton and less than an hour from Cincinnati. However, there is no regular public transportation between Bellbrook and Dayton, so make sure to take parking into account when choosing your attractions.

When you book an RV in Bellbrook, Ohio you’ll need to consider what sorts of attractions you want to be close to. Are you more of a city liver or an outdoors lover? This will probably dictate which RV park you end up staying in.

RV Parks near Bellbrook

Frontier Campground is the closest dedicated RV park to Bellbrook. The campground has full hookups for your Bellbrook RV rental along with laundry facilities, basketball court, and a game room. For those wanting to do some fishing, Spring Valley Wildlife Lake is just a quarter of a mile away.

Another option for camping with an RV rental near Bellbrook is Caesar Creek State Park, about 20 minutes away. It has electrical hookups, but no water or sewer. While it doesn’t have much in the way of amenities, there are several easy trails branching off from the RV sites if you want to go for a quick hike.

Fourteen miles to the southeast of Bellbrook is Thousand Trails Preserve in Wilmington. The park has full hookups for your Bellbrook camper rental, but sometimes spotty WiFi coverage, so hopefully the kids will spend some more time with you instead of staring at screens. There’s also a pool and easy lake access if you want to go for a swim. Olive Branch Campground in Oregonia is a similar distance and has all the same amenities (except the lake).

Exploring the City of Bellbrook

Bellbrook is primarily a commuter town for residents that don’t wish to live in busy Dayton but still need to work there. That means that most of what you would consider city amenities like good restaurants, nightlife, and entertainment for tourists will be found in Dayton. We’ll start with a couple of gems in Bellbrook though.

The annual Sugar Maple Festival takes place towards the end of April every year, and usually has a footrace, arts and crafts show, and live entertainment that brings out the whole town to celebrate.

Whether you’re young or old, Stagecoach Toys will probably have something to excite you. Their wide selection of vintage toys makes them popular with collectors, but it’s also a consignment store where you can get a great deal on a really unique gift for the little ones.

Dayton doesn’t quite have a monopoly on good eats either, as the Blueberry Cafe serves up some of the best breakfasts (and in massive portions) in the area, while Bellbrook Pizza Cottage could be the place to go when you need a good slice.

If you’re taking a day trip into Dayton with the Bellbrook, OH motorhome rental and are an aviation enthusiast, you’ll need to visit both the Wright-Dunbar and the Prairie Huffman Flying Field Interpretive Centers. They both have some great exhibits on the history of aviation and the people that made it possible. Additionally, the National Museum of the Air Force houses some classic and modern military planes and is one of the most visited museums in all of Ohio.

Things to Do Outside near Bellbrook

Given that there’s not too much going on in the town of Bellbrook, you’d do well to spend more time in nature, at least when you’re not visiting nearby Dayton. Fortunately, Bellbrook has some fantastic outdoor recreation opportunities if you’re up for the adventure.

If you’re thinking about getting out on the water, you’ll want to consider a stop by Bellbrook Canoe Rental. They have kayaks, canoes, inner tubes, and everything else you’ll need for a day out on the water. RiversEdge Kayak and Canoe Outfitters can also get you outfitted for paddling and are located just five miles from Bellbrook.

The nearby 80-mile long Little Miami Scenic Trail is popular with walkers, runners, and cyclists. This rail trail runs from Cincinnati to Buck Creek Park, halfway between Dayton and Columbus. The section closest to Bellbrook is about seven miles away.

Golfers will want to check out Yankee Trace Golf Club in Centerville, seven miles from Bellbrook. It’s one of the only courses in the area, so if you want to stick close to the RV parks near Bellbrook, this will be one of your only options. There’s also Bellbrook Driving Range if you just want to work on your long game though.

If you’re hitting up national parks while traveling with your Bellbrook camper rental, you’ll definitely want to visit Cuyahoga Valley National Park in the northeast of the state. It doesn’t see nearly as many visitors as some of the more popular parks like Great Smoky Mountains or Shenandoah, so you should have a fairly peaceful experience there, even during peak season. The park is most known for towering waterfalls and excellent bike paths along the former Ohio and Erie Canal.
