Milam County Historical Museum is located in the city center. Until 1895, this building was used as a county jail. In addition to the inmates, the county sheriff and his family also lived in this house, until the house was too crowded and had to be replaced with larger facilities. In 1978, the building was renovated, and the museum was opened. There are many important artifacts kept here, which show the authentic life in 19th-century Texas and tells a story about the county’s history and most prominent citizens. Close to the Milam County Jail and Courthouse, there is also a renovated pioneer cabin that belonged to Joseph P. Sneed, who lived there with his family in the 19th century.
Lions Junction Family Water Park is a less than 40 minutes' drive from Cameron, and it offers a full day of family fun while enjoying swimming pools, water slides, and a splash zone.
