Clayton, GA is a small town located a little under two hours North of Atlanta in Rabun County and can be accessed via U.S 23 or U.S. 76. With it's awesome location in the state, North and South Carolina are just a short drive away making it the perfect location to start your vacation in your luxury motorhome rental from Clayton.

Clayton was founded by European-American settlers in 1821 and was originally named Claytonsville. Two years later, the name was changed when the city was incorporated. The two main roads that lead to Clayton were once Cherokee trails that were repurposed as the main highways in and out of the county.

One unique thing about the city is that it is mostly flat in the downtown area without the normal tiny mountain roads. Your Clayton travel trailer rental will be easy to maneuver in this area. Many of Georgia’s small mountain towns can be challenging to drive through. Please plan accordingly.
