Out on the fringes of Houston, there are many wilderness parks to explore in a camper rental. Lake Houston, which is a large 12,000-acre lake, has a bounty of fishing and boating recreation. Xtreme Off-Road Park and Beach, just a few minutes away from Crosby, is rip-roaring fun. While motorhome rentals aren’t recommended for off-roading and mudding, there’s plenty of fun to be had. Fish, camp, hike, and swim. If the towing vehicle for the rental RV is a four-wheel drive, it certainly can be used.

Although a motorhome rental in Crosby makes it easy to get into Houston for fun and adventure, there’s plenty of things to do and see out in the eastern ranchlands. Step back into time! The San Jacinto Museum of History’s vast collections spans over 400 years, with over 100,000 artifacts and documents available to the public. The award-winning 35-minute multimedia production details the events of the infamous Battle of San Jacinto. The waterfront town of La Porte, which is where the museum is, has many historic homes and churches that makes strolling about quite enjoyable.

Get a break from the Texas heat! Pirates Bay in Baytown is a fabulous water amusement park with dozens of soaking water rides, including a sloshy wave pool, a pool in which guests can learn how to surf, and 300-feet twisty water slides.

Surprising very few, the subject of a “proper” barbeque is often fiercely debated. Which is better: wet or dry rubs? Which restaurant has The Best BBQ? Straight Off the Road in Crosby is a hole-in-the-wall type restaurant popular with the locals that dishes up delicious fare. Alternatively, try Goings BBQ and Steak Company which is a longtime Crosby staple.
