The community of Horton is in the northeast corner of Hanover Township, in Jackson County, Michigan. The township is a town on paper but in reality, has limited autonomy and is largely governed as a part of the larger county. Jackson County was formed in 1829 and had become more self-sufficient by 1832. The county was named after former U.S. President Andrew Jackson, and it has within its borders a long list of parks and recreation areas. Some of these are cultivated, while others are more rustic and natural, depending upon their usage.

Search for an RV in Jackson County, and you will have taken the first step towards a vacation unlike any you have ever known. There are other towns and cities of note that visitors should investigate while they are here. Jackson (city, not county) was known by the late 19th century as “the crossroads of Michigan” due to its strategic importance as a railroad hub. Jonesville proudly has numerous historic homes throughout the city and is home to the oldest Carhartt clothing retail establishment in the country. Coldwater and the surrounding area became an American community, transferred from British rule in 1796, but it wasn't until 1830 that settlers began to arrive from New York and New England. Tekonsha is the birthplace of the “Father of Aerial Photography,” Talbert Abrams. Marshall has been referred to as a "virtual textbook of 19th-century American architecture" due to its wide variety of 19th and early 20th-century architectural styles. Your Horton travel trailer rental is how you will experience this scenic and historical area in comfort and at your own pace.
