Linden, California is a census-designated place that sits just outside of Stockton and while it may seem as though not much takes place here, it is a wonderful location to rent an RV. When you book an RV in Linden, you’ll only be a couple of hours' drive away from San Francisco, but in the other direction you can check out a number of national forests and a national park.
Almost due east of Linden sits Yosemite National Park. Just to the north of that is Stanislaus National Forest. To the north of that is El Dorado National Forest and then, if you wish to drive just a little bit farther, you can check out Lake Tahoe near Carson City, Nevada.
While you likely won’t find a number of large parks and outdoor recreational facilities in Linden itself, because of its proximity to Stockton (a more populous city), it’s a short drive away to enjoy the great outdoors.
If you have young children, Pixie Woods-Louis Park is a decent destination in Stockton. It is considered one of Stockton’s best-kept secrets. Children can unleash their imagination with a variety of attractions. There’s a frontier village, a leprechaun miner’s village, a Toad Stool Theater, Tom Sawyer’s Tree House, a rickety bridge, and a paddle wheel boat and steam train, just to name a few.

It was developed and is maintained in partnership with the International World Peace Rose Garden Organization. They also have several amenities, including restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities. Pets are permitted and there is a pet area for walking. It could be a decent place for overnight stays. Remember to keep your speed down when you cruise your luxury RV rental from Linden in because the road can be a bit rough in spots.
Dos Reis Regional Park is located in Lathrop and offers full hookup service, including 30 amp electric. They also have a pet area, playground, and recreational trails. You will also find restrooms and showers available and the park is clean.
You should be able to find a few Walmart stores in the area where you might be able to park the motorhome rental near Linden for a night or two. Just be sure to confirm your stay ahead of time with store management.
