Discover Lula

The Great Outdoors

Book an RV in Hall County and set out to explore the outstanding recreational locations. Lula Bridge (also sometimes referred to as Blind Susie) was built in 1915 and is a 34 foot covered bridge. Spanning over a local river, it is one of the smallest bridges in the United States. Parts of this bridge have fallen into the river below creating a unique place to explore. Check out this local landmark as you spend some time walking along the river.

Another place to check out is Don Carter State Park in Gainesville. A relatively new state park, it’s situated on Lake Lanier and provides you with plenty of opportunities to swim or fish so make sure your rod and reel are packed in your RV. The park also provides boat rentals, trails, and campgrounds.

The Chattahoochee National Forest runs over 867,000 acres so you’ll have plenty of outdoor recreational activities. Take a hike on one of the numerous trails, enjoy the many rivers, grasslands, and small waterfalls dotted throughout. In addition to this, the forest also offers a few learning spots, such as the ancient petroglyphs section.

RV Parks

There are many options to park your Lula motorhome rental when searching for a place to stay for the night, including Shope Park, a small campground that offers six RV sites. WiFi, cable TV, and a small fishing spot are also available for your comfort. Spend a night or come and stay for a week.

Just a short drive away you near the small town of Alpine Village of Helen will find Yonah Mountain Campground. This large RV site offers many amenities for guests to enjoy, such as WiFi, a general store and a picnic pavilion. This pet-friendly campsite is a perfect place to place your Lula luxury motorhome rental for the night or week.

The Sugar Mill Creek RV Resort has 48 spots to choose from and is situated beneath towering trees and bubbling brooks. This campsite is located in Clarkesville and offers water, WiFi, and fire pits.

Exploring the City

Situated just a few minutes away from Lula is the School Bus Graveyard. This unique area is filled with old buses that have been spray painted with designs created from the imagination of artists. Along with colorful buses, you’ll discover sculptures like cars balancing on top of each other. Park your Lula motorhome rental at this attraction that began in the early 2000s and continues to grow in popularity.

About an hour away from Lula is the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. First opened in 1976, this 30-acre attraction is filled with fragrant plants and an array of gardens you can wander through. It also has a canopy walk which will take you on a short trail around ancient trees. This site offers many events throughout the year so check the website to see if any are going on while you are in town. Keep in mind tickets are required in order to enter.

Another local place of interest to check out is the Gainesville’s Steam Locomotive. This old train stopped operations during the 1950s and was preserved to help tell the history of the railroad through the area. While you are viewing this historic train, consider a stop in its railroad museum to learn more historical information, view exhibits, or ask a local expert some questions.

While Lula is a small city it has a few different restaurants for your enjoyment when hunger sets in. Comfort food and American cuisine are available in town, but you will need to venture out a few miles away for fine dining.
