Exploring the Town of Niwot

One of the top attractions in the Niwot area is the Chapel on the Rock, located in nearby Allenspark. The Chapel on the Rock is what it sounds like: a chapel built impressively on top of a big rock. It’s been a functioning Catholic church since 1936 and is open to the public. The views from the chapel are unbeatable.

Another option is the Lyons Redstone Museum not too far from Niwot in the town of Lyons. The museum is home to the town’s original schoolhouse, founded in 1881, and tells the story of the area’s history. Be aware that the Redstone Museum has seasonal hours, so it’s best to check on them before going out to Lyons.

Ever wondered what it would be like to be a real-life farmer getting up at the crack of dawn to feed the animals and tend the fields? There are multiple working farms in the area around Niwot that are open to the public. Some of them are also home to farm-to-table restaurants, allowing visitors to view the livestock or pick their own produce, or run activities like corn mazes and hay rides.
