The resort town of Silver Plume can be found high up in the Rocky Mountains in central Colorado, approximately halfway between the city of Denver and the towns of Frisco and Dillon. There are many explanations for the name of the town but none can be confirmed as the reason for naming it Silver Plume. Although the origin of the name is unspecified, one might venture an educated guess that it has something to do with the town’s history of mining for gold and silver ore in the mountain mines. When settlers first began to arrive in town, mining was a major industry responsible for the town's prosperity.

Today, Silver Plume subsists off of its tourism industry, with countless visitors pouring into town to tour its mines or simply stop on the way to the ski resorts and mountain towns farther west on Interstate 70. When you book an RV in Silver Plume, both city and mountain recreation are easily obtained when you bring your Silver Plume motorhome rental to various mountains, parks, and areas to explore the beauty of the Centennial State.
